Playful Buttons

From Adriel:

The color scheme for this card along with the style of the DSP makes for a playful-looking Christmas card. The glittery red polka dots, a shimmery snowflake, a tiny little sentiment... so many fun details. The buttons just complete the card and add to the playful and whimsy look. I'm not a big "pink" person, but I love the pink on this card! This is definitely a departure from the more traditional holiday cards, but it's a ton of fun and I love it! I finished off the inside with white cardstock and more of that fun glittery red polka dot paper! Very merry, as the sentiment suggests.

You can find this card in our Etsy shop right now. We're slowly adding more holiday items, so come by again to see what's new!

Holiday Boutique Review

We enjoyed seeing a few of you on Saturday at the Holiday Boutique that we participated in! I thought I'd share a couple of pictures of our table.

We're still getting the hand of this kind of thing. I honestly think we have too much of a variety of items to sell. I think our table is overwhelming to people. I'd like to experiment with limiting the types of items we sell to just a handful. Hmmm... what do you think?

Anyway, if anything, it helped us get all of our items organized. I don't think either of us (and especially myself) realized how many cards we had! Oh my! Everything is nicely organized and copyright stamped and many things are even packaged, so there's no excuse for me not to get these things in our Etsy shop soon. I'm hoping to focus this week on getting pictures taken and edited to do just that. =)

Hope you all had a nice weekend! Did you do anything special or fun?

Punched Christmas Penguin and Reindeer

After we planned our classes for last year's Christmas cards and projects, I saw this little punched penguin and reindeer on someone's blog (I apologize for not knowing who came up with these little guys...if you know, please let me know). I tucked this idea away and couldn't wait until this year's classes, so that I could use them on gift card holder-ornaments that we'll be making, along with another gift card holder in our Tuesday, November 2 classes (323TW.130/ 10-Noon and 324TW.130/ 7-9 PM)  at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. There's still room, if you'd like to join us. Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Technique Class

Earlier this year I came across the Faux Linen technique. The technique results looked very  "Fall'ish" and tucked the idea away to use for our Thanksgiving card class. This card uses the Loads of Love stamp set  along with one of my favorite techniques, watercoloring. We'll be making this card along with the other 2 cards shown in this post at our Stamp-A-Technique class at my house this Tuesday, October 19. We have still have spots open in all three of our time slots (10-Noon/ 1:30-3:30 PM/ 7-9 PM). Let me know if you'd like to join us.

Clearance Rack Goodies

Stampin' Up! is having an awesome sale on discontinued items in the Clearance Rack section. We just ordered a few things of ribbon and a couple packs of Designer Series paper along with shipping for around $20! Definitely check it out and see if there's anything in there that you could use. Some items are discounted up to 80%! FYI, when you get to page 10, if you keep clicking the arrow on the side, it will take you to more pages. I don't know why they don't list more numbers, so you think you've reached the end of the clearance section. But you haven't and there's a bunch more so keep clicking!

The picture above will take you to Heidi's Demo site where there is a "shop now" button. When you get to the shop click on the "clearance rack" section to check out all the goodies for a bargain!

Happy Friday to you!

Holiday House Tutorial

From Heidi...
Our friend, Tina, got me going on Stampin Up's Design-A-House. When the new Holiday Mini catalog came out she asked if we could get together and make these fun houses. It sounded like fun to me. So, I looked around to see what other stampers had done and I didn't find much help out there. I thought since I was already putting the instructions together for some of our stamping friends, I'd share my tutorial with anyone else who'd like to use it. You can click on Holiday House to open up the PDF tutorial for it. I hope that you have fun! If you'd like to purchase one of these houses and supplies through me, please visit my website. Thanks for stopping by.

Fall Design Trends

From Adriel:

Remember in THIS POST how I mentioned running the cardstock through the Big Shot with the Lattice embossing folder and tearing it to get results that looked like BURLAP? Well, here's something to note: BURLAP is in this fall (along with other things, of course)!

Here's the tag I made that features the "burlap-looking" cardstock. It's a great texture addition!

I found THIS ARTICLE interesting on fall trends and was visualizing how to translate some of these fall trends into card making. I'm still thinking about it, but the list certainly gave me some new inspiration. I thought I'd share it with you! =)

Are you onto any fall trends that weren't mentioned in the article? Share them here!

Stocking Gift Card Holder

From Heidi...

I appreciate all the fun ideas that other bloggers share. I saw this cute Stocking Shaped gift card holder on Mary Davidson's blog last year and couldn't wait to add it to this year's Holiday Treasure class (331TW.150 and 332TW.150) at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. These are so easy to make and this year's Jolly Holiday DSP make the cutest looking stockings. Join us for some creative fun! Thanks for looking :-)

October Color Challenge #9 + Gift Tag

From Adriel:

It's the beginning of a new month
and that means a new THS color challenge!
Here's the colors for our challenge this month.

Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, River Rock, and More Mustard

I had fun with these colors and made some gift tags
with last year's "Gobble Gobble" stamp from Stampin' Up!'s a la carte.
It's just too cute not to use again! =)

I sent the River Rock CS through the Big Shot
with the Lattice embossing folder.
When you tear it, it almost looks like burlap, which is a great touch.

Now it's your turn! As always, our color challenge
is open to all of our artsy, crafty friends.
You have the whole month to create something fabulous using our color challenge.

Just post it on your blog or a gallery
and link to it using the submission button at the bottom of this post.
You can also send us a picture of your creation and we will submit it for you.
Email us at: twohappystampers@gmail.com
We'll feature 5 of the entries on our blog!

Guidelines:

Color challenge ends October 31st @ midnight Arizona time
Please keep submissions family friendly
Get inspired, get creative, and have fun!

Happy October to you!

Christmas Tags

From Heidi...
It sure seems like it was just the beginning of January 2010 and here we are at the beginning of October looking towards the end of the year. Wow...is it just me or does time seem to be flying by? I've been thinking about our upcoming Christmas projects, planning and creating for them. We have a fun class that we hold each year called Holiday Treasures. In this class we create unique gift card holders, treat cards and containers and other fun holiday gift-giving items. This year we're creating a Cocoa Holder, a Candy Bar/Bookmark card, Gift Tags, and a cute Stocking-Shaped Gift Card Holder. These are the Christmas Gift Tags we'll be making...too cute! This class will be held at Tumbleweed on Thursday, November 11  (class codes 331TW.150 - 12:30-3 PM; 332TW.150 - 7-9:30 PM). We'd love to have you join us...the more the merrier!
