A Smooches Spiral Pop-Up

(there's too many fun promos to list them all here)

My card share today wasn't planned. I had made a quick stop at Splitcoaststampers and out of curiosity checked out Monday's Technique Challenge which was " I Like to Move it, Move it", adding movement to your project, with a list of ideas.
One was a Surprise Pop-Up which piqued my interest. From there I googled pop-up cards and found a Spiral Pop-Up tutorial on Julie Davison's blog. Since I had a bunch of scrap card parts lying around, I tried out the spiral idea for fun and little by little this birthday card emerged. It's always kind of fun when a card just happens.
I'm needing some May birthday cards, so this will be a very fun card to give away! I love how it looks like a normal card on the outside, but when you open it up, (wham!) it's a bouncy garden scene.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Friday's Fresh Finds

It's Friday already! Wow, this week flew by and here it is already Friday! In addition, here we are in new month: April. Our weather here has been beautiful lately, but I know that the summer heat will be upon us before we know it. I've been encouraging the kids to spend time outside and take advantage of the weather, because pretty soon they'll be cooped up in the house with it being too hot to play outside.

With all that being said, our Fresh Finds theme this week is spring and garden-related items. Here are just a few of some wonderful items that caught my eye on Etsy recently! Enjoy! =)

Cherry Blossom Bangles from sophiapip - Someone on facebook shared a link to these and the photo caught my attention. Such a lovely piece! There's so many more lovely things in her shop, too! Lovely work. =)

Garden Tray from LynnWoodPorcelain - This piece is so happy and cute! Perfect for the new season! =)

Blooming Pillows from TwoYellowShoes - Okay, I am in love with these! Aren't they fun?! =)

Hair Garden Bobbies from TopStory - These are just beautiful! I love things like this, but then I can't figure out how to do my hair with them. I have jeweled hair things and bobbies that never look right when I put them in my hair. Call me accessory-challenged... I still love looking and dreaming, though. These make me want to try again... =)

Chalkboard Flower Pots from MaysHomemade - I thought these pots were such a cute idea, especially for herbs or something of that sort. Simply write with chalk on the pot what you've planted. Charming idea! =)

Crochet Flower Brooch from bysweetmom - I saw this on facebook also. It just caught my eye! Such a beautiful way to dress up a T-shirt or simple blouse. Lovely accessory! =)

I hope you're enjoying the spring season and all the loveliness that it brings. Have a wonderful Friday! Thanks for stopping by! =)

Spring is Coming

From Adriel:

We had a great class Tuesday evening at Tumbleweed Rec. Center. Our birthday bash cards were a lot of fun to make and it was enjoyable to spend time with those who attended.

This is completely off-subject, but it was so cold yesterday, especially in the evening. The air had a snap to it. Our weather is having a hard time deciding what it wants to do, but spring is right around the corner and our project class tomorrow screams spring and butterflies!
This month we're making a cute 3-D art project using the new Beautiful Wings embosslit die featured in the Occasions Mini. Once this new baby girl gets here and we've settled into life again, I'm planning on re-doing Kayla's room, since it will be "the girls'" room. I want to paint it and put some curtains up and new blinds. This type of 3-D project is great for sprucing up any room and adding a nice artistic element to it. I would like to make something like this in the colors I end up using for their room. =)
We're also making this cute pocket card that holds a packet of seeds! The note insert slides into the pocket, along with the packet of seeds. So cute! =)

Both of these projects are a great way to welcome spring! I'm going to be getting the supplies ready for this class today and am looking forward to teaching it to those of you who will be joining us tomorrow! Have a wonderful day! =)

Easter is Around the Corner

From Adriel:

When I was a girl, my grandma would have us over for a jelly bean hunt. She would hide jelly beans all over her house and in her yard and my sister and I (and later my brother, too), would have little baskets and hunt for jelly beans. We always looked forward to it!

Here's an Easter card I made last week. I intended to use a different floral stamp set, but it was packed up for a class and I decided to use something that was easily accessible. I used a retired set called "Doodle This", which is so whimsical... very pretty.
I used a simple color scheme of Pale Plum, Whisper White and Basic Black. I think the results are so elegant and sophisticated! =) I mixed up my own shimmer mist using a small travel size hairspray bottle (contents discarded, bottle washed and dried), alcohol and shimmer paint! I misted my flower with this and added a rhinestone brad to the center. The flower is beautiful with that shimmer! =)

Just something to share with you today. Hope you're having a good Monday! =)

Gift Tags Galore!!

From Adriel:

Hope you all had a great weekend! What can I say? It went by way too fast... =(

We're looking forward to stamping with some of you this week at our SAS! The sponging technique is a great way to add more interest to your projects. I think you'll like the cards we'll be making and you're going to fall in love with the Sixth Avenue Floral set!

In the meantime, here's some gift tags to inspire you that we've made for spring and for our Etsy shop.

This set of tags is very simple and made with soft earth tones. We used the Sale-a-Bration set "Botanical Blooms" and the scallop edge punch as well as the eyelet border punch. The rounded corners add to the softness. Hemp cord finishes off these tags for an added earthiness!

This set of tags is made with bright pastels and the hostess set, "A Little Somethin'", which works great with various punches. By using the Stampin' Write markers, you can get a multi-colored image! Layered with other punched shapes and some marigold yellow ribbon, they make super cute tags!

This set of tags is sweet and girly, using primarily the curly label punch and the Boho Blossoms punch. The Boho Blossoms are the main focal point of the tag and rhinestones added to the centers make them extra special! White satin ribbon finishes them off for added girly-ness! =)

I hope we gave you some fresh ideas for making your own gift tags! Dress up those gifts you plan on giving or even your baked goods with a beautiful tag! =)
