Birthday Bumblebee

From Heidi...My grandson's birthday was last week. He had a marathon birthday celebration with something going on that was related to his birthday for 4 days. It was fun to celebrate with him. You would've thought he would be birthday spoiled by the end of the 4 days, but he did pretty good considering how much celebrating we did. I made him this bumblebee birthday card. I saw this card on someone's blog (I'm sorry that I can't find the link, but you can click on this blog and view a ladybug, which is another fun idea) These both were so cute and I was glad to have a reason to make the bumblebee. I hope you're inspired!Cardstock: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

A Thank You

From Heidi...I had a wonderful Mother's Day...I hope all of you mom's out there had a great one, too! My Mother's Day was full of eating. My son made me breakfast (yum!), we met Adriel and her family for Starbuck's (Starbuck's was offering frap's for 1/2 off last week), and then we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant, Mandarin Chef (on the SW corner of Queen Creek and Val Vista Rds., for those of you who live in AZ). I received some very fun gifts, so I wanted to make some special "thank you's"...thanks for letting me share them with you!CS: Whisper White, Old Olive, DSP paper Ink: Taken with Teal, Old Olive Big Shot: Scallop Circle, Circle #2, butterfly embosslit

Debossed Big Shot Daisy

From Heidi...
I thought I'd share this card I made ...I actually started part of it several days ago, but just finished it. Sometimes I just need to think about a card for awhile before it comes together and this was one of those times.
I used the new Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions, but impressed the CS with embossing on the inside instead of outside. I then brayered the debossed side with So Saffron, leaving the white debossed images showing, sponged Apricot Appeal to the upper right section of the CS. The rest is is pretty self-explanatory: BS Scallop Circle - Night of Navy; BS Daisies - Lg. daisy, So Saffron; Med. Daisy, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst; Sm. Daisy, Almost Amethyst. I crimped Certainly Celery leaves and stem, to which Certainly Celery is sponged on the high spots of the crimped CS, Paper-pierced outline of large flower, stem and leaves. Thanks for visiting us!

Simple Thank You Card (using my Big Shot)

From Adriel:

Even though I'm out of town until Friday, I thought I would schedule a couple of posts this week so that the responsibility of the blog doesn't fall on my mom. She is taking care of my kids this week, along with getting ready to go on a trip of her own next week, so she doesn't need anything extra to worry about!

I thought I would share a simple thank you card I made recently using my Big Shot. Actually, almost everything on this card is made using the Big Shot (except for the small flower in the middle of the larger and the stamped sentiment).

I needed some thank you cards for my recent birthday, so I made a couple of these up. Very simple, and although it took me longer than it should have (because I was debating and planning and creating as I went along), this would be a pretty fast card to make. =)

I used:

Fundamental Phrases set (this really is fundamental and comes in handy so often!)

Sahara Sand CS
Baja Breeze CS
Ruby Red CS
So Saffron CS (or Barely Banana... can't remember which)
Whisper White CS

Ruby Red Stampin' Write marker (my ink pad was dry)

Sizzix Big Shot
Matchbox die
Daisies Flower #2 die
Scallop Circle #2 die
Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates

What is funny is a day or two after I made this, Kristina Werner posted her color inspiration challenge. All the colors I used here were used except for the Ruby Red! =)

Have a wonderful day!!
