I hope that you had a wonderful Thansksgiving. I guess with Thanksgiving behind us we're officially in the Christmas Season. I love Christmas!
Here's a simple, yet elegant Holiday Treasure that you can make with your Big Shot and the Snowflake Bigz die. My Holiday Treasure number 4 is a lovely tea light holder for Christmas. I used thin aluminum, but you can use a soda can or you can buy thin aluminum at the hobby store (be sure to use your 40% off coupon), Sticky Strip and a tea light. Stagger and glue the metal snowflakes together, adhere and place your tea light over the snowflakes by adding a few strips of Sticky Strip to the bottom of the tea light, then slightly bend up the arms of your snowflakes and you have yourself an elegant Christmas decoration. I got this fun idea from Monica Weaver.

Button Christmas Card + Holiday Link Party
From Adriel:
There's a holiday link party at the end of this post! Link up your holiday goodies, and by that I mean anything you've been working on, be it baking, crafting, sewing... you get the picture! Here's what I've been working on.
I finished up this Christmas card last week. I was waiting on the snowflake punch, which came and it finished off the card. My mom was the one who said it needed the snowflake... she is a genius! =)
You can't tell in the picture, but I spritzed the snowflake with some shimmer mist. I think the buttons add some charm to this card. The color combo for this card is conducive to "charming" and "cute-sy". ;-)
It was kind of hard having to get into "Christmas" gear in August. My mom did most of the holiday creating. This was my small contribution. We'll be making this card and others at a card class coming up in the next couple of months. It is already September, so I guess it's about time to get ready for the holidays. =)
Have you been working on anything related to the holidays coming up? Link up below! The only guideline is that submissions be family-friendly! No other strings attached! =)

Christmas in August
From Adriel:
I made some Christmas cards the other day. I know, I know. August! Christmas! I did this partly to get a couple done to sell on ebay. I thought there may be some early birds on there looking for Christmas cards. My reasoning probably seems silly... I'm a silly gal!
Anyway, onto the cards! My colors: whisper white, basic gray, old olive, ruby red, and bravo burgundy. I used whisper white CS for the base of the card, my next layer is basic gray, and then after that is the layer of either old olive or ruby red (depending on the card). This layer is stamped with the thingy from the Wow Flowers set... it kinda looked like a snowflake to me! Again, I'm a silly gal! I stamped the "snowflake" with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. It made a really nice background, snowflake or not! Moving on, my bravo burgundy strip is scallop punched on the bottom edge (yes, using the NEW scallop edge punch!), and attached to the
various layers. A beautiful basic gray taffeta ribbon is tied around the burgundy strip before all these layers are attached to the white card base. The sentiment/stamped image which is really a snowflake FOR REAL, was stamped with whisper white craft ink and then embossed with this "Winter Wonderland" embossing powder I had on hand (no, not SU). Punched out with the scallop circle punch, with another scallop circle punch in gray behind. Attached with dimensionals and that's it!So, perhaps today you will be going about your day and you will find yourself humming your favorite Christmas tune or maybe you'll be thinking about all those Christmas cards you need to send out... and you will wonder, "Why am I thinking about Christmas in August?!?!?!" Well, you can thank little old me! Bye for now!
