Holiday Treasure Countdown Number 3

Here's the third Holiday Treasure share for you, the Punched Circles Ornament. There are so many cute and fun variations of these ornaments out there, I was quite inspired! This is a great project to use up some of your Christmas designer paper scraps and leftovers.

These are super easy to make...and who would have thought that paper leftovers could be so cute, huh?

Valentine SAS Card

This coming week is our busy week full of card and stamping classes! We are going to have so much fun making these cards with our stamping gals!

Here's a couple of the cards we're going to be making at our SAS classes this week.

They're basically the same card with a different printed paper and the cardstock on the scallop circles reversed. Simple design, a lot of Big Shot-ing and pretty DS paper! BTW, that's the same DSP that I used on these mini love notes with the tiny squares of DSP... Sending Love Specialty DSP from Stampin' Up! I hope they continue making this kind of paper in the future, because it is so awesome to have one side with glitter on it. =)

Card for Raspberry Suite Challenge #21

I haven't participated in a challenge recently and this color challenge on Dawn McVey's blog looked fun. It was a great excuse to get creative and do something different!

The colors were so refreshing to work with! Since I was using Stampin' Up! product, I had to improvise with the colors. I used some retired designer paper in So Saffron and last year's in color Baja Breeze. I had pleated (or ruffled) the designer paper strips. I had this awesome wide striped Chocolate Chip ribbon that we got recently, scrunched it, tied a beautiful light yellow button on and it looked just as awesome on the card as it did on the spool! (Yes, love it when that happens.) Clear embossed a couple of flower images from the Fifth Avenue Floral set on the Very Vanilla CS and added the great sentiment from the Priceless set. Added dimensional adhesive to the back of the Very Vanilla panel and attached it to my 3-1/2" x 5" Chocolate Chip card base.

My picture isn't the greatest, but then again, I didn't take it at the greatest time of day! It was evening... I did my best with my photo editing software to make it look decent. Hmmmm... my perfectionist part of me has to sleep right now while I post a not-perfect picture! Ack! ;-)

Anyway, had a great time with these colors and enjoyed the creative process! Enjoyed myself more than I should have, I'm sure! =D

Christmas Card

From Heidi...Where does the time go? Wow...it's been awhile since I've posted something here on our blog. I keep meaning to get my Christmas cards posted, but there's always just "one more thing" that seems to take presidence! I'm glad that there's two of us...I'm sure our blog site is glad that there's two of us, otherwise it might feel more neglected than it already does. But anyway...here's a Christmas card I wanted to share. I love this layout using two different coordinating DS papers, which I saw used on another card. The DS paper is Holiday Lounge, Stamp Set: Snow Buddies (stocking). I used Crystal Effects to create an icicle border which I placed on the top of the Whisper White CS. After watercoloring the stockings, I filled them in with Crystal Effects to make them pop out. This was a fun card to make! I had fun creating all the little details

Another Altered Composition Book

From Heidi...Hope you all had a great weekend. We participated in a craft fair this weekend at Vertuccio Farms. We didn't sell much, but the kids had a great time in the corn maze, jumping castle and the tractor train ride. So, it was worth it!
Today we're sharing another one of the three Altered Composition Books we created. We used the same layout on all three, but different designer papers. I forget the name of the SU Designer paper used here, it's retired...but I loved the color combo in it, though.On another note, I'm looking forward to this Thursday. We're holding our Christmas Treasures class. It's so nice to get together and create with everyone again...especially the projects we're making, they're all so much fun. Have a great Monday!

Altered Composition Books

From Heidi...I love journaling...and I love journaling in cute journals!! Back in July when Walmart was having their Back-to-School specials, we picked up a bunch of these Composition Books for 50 cents/piece...quite a bargain! These make great journals because of their size and lined notebook pages, but as they are, they're pretty boring on the outside, so we decided to make them cute! We altered this book with SU's Rockabilly designer paper (you'd never know that the other side of this designer paper is decorated with skulls, huh? I'm just not into the skulls and death look, this side looks much happier and cheerier). Once again, I really wish I could use My Digital Studio (did I mention that yesterday, too?), but since I can't I resorted to using Word for my colored oval and "Notes" title. I used the Tart and Tangy stampset to stamp the cherries. We'll be taking these with us to the craft fair we're doing tomorrow at Vertuccio Farms...they've got a bunch of fun happening tomorrow from 10 AM to 10 PM. If you don't have any plans, come on out with your family. They've got a lot of family fun planned.

Recipe Binder

From Heidi...I wanted to post this Recipe Binder that Adriel has been working on. These smaller view binders are the perfect size for a cookbook and the vinyl sleeves protect the designer covers. We made the covers for one of these binders using all My Digital Studio, but when we found out that MDS is only for personal use and can't be used for business purposes, we were kind of bummed. MDS offers so many fun possibilities! So, we resorted back to Designer Papers, but we've incorporated the computer into this project. Using Word, we were able to create the oval border to fit into our Cuttlebug cutter, and then matched the color of the border with SU's coordinating papers (BTW, I love this paper, too bad it's retired!) and then played around with different fonts and font sizes to fill the oval with. Stitched Bella Bleu

I was inspired by THIS CARD a few days ago and made a card based on it with the Bella Bleu DS paper from Stampin' Up!.

I used my mom's sewing machine on the zig zag setting and sewed away! It was fun. I need to incorporate sewing into my cards more often... it adds a special something! =)

Anyway, I thought it turned out pretty and would be perfect as a wedding card. It has that look. =)

Apple Tea Book

From Heidi...Since Adriel shared that "wonderful" photo of me putting the finishing touches on the apple tea book I was making, I thought I'd share with you how it came out (minus me in the pictures :-) I don't know what it is about these little book/cards, but I love making them. I think I love combining the DS papers, colors and embellishments together. Plus I love the size of these cards...their small, but they're full of little surprises inside and out. Rockabilly Organizer

From Heidi...I just had to share this custom order coupon holder. I probably would've never put these papers together, but after I made this I had to admit that it made a very fun organizer. I didn't realize that SU's Rockabilly DS paper had such fun paper in it. The blacks are very cool...some have glossy stripes, like this one. This paper would make some very fun cards or projects. If you aren't into skulls, the back of the skull papers are red with white polka dots and the back of the other skull paper is the black with glossy stripes on it, like on the front of this organizer. Anyway, just thought you'd like to see how this turned out. Thanks for looking!
