One More Newsletter Holder

This is the third of the three cards from last month's card class. The card is cute as is, with the Baker's twine tied through the card crease, but the twine also serves as a newsletter holder, as shown below. This makes a creative way to send your annual newsletter  :-)
I love these colors together (Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Old Olive) and the sentiment of JOY from the stamp set Word Play fits perfectly. I used the crimper on the Crumb Cake panel and an Early Espresso stripe DSP from the Neutrals Paper Stack.
Thanks for stopping by, hope that you have a great rest of the day!

Free Photo Holder Card Tutorial

The theme for my card class this month was Christmas Holder cards. We made a couple of newsletter holder cards and then this card, which is a Photo Holder, using the Top Note Bigz die which I wanted to share with you. Just click on the link Snowflake Photo Holder for your free PDF tutorial.
One of our stamping friends used Whisper White snowflakes instead of Bashful Blue and it made a beautiful card. What makes this card a little special, is that when the recipient pulls out the photo they still have a beautiful stamped Christmas card. When I first designed the card I had only stamped a sentiment, but it seemed to need a little bit more, so I added the trees from Plant Hope. (Thanks, Susan, for letting me borrow your stamp set...I'm ordering my own this month :-)
I'd love to see what you come up with, so please feel free to send me a photo of your rendition of the Photo Holder. I hope that you have fun trying the card out. Happy Friday!

Stamping and Digital Go Head to Head

I needed some "Thank You" cards, so I pulled out this fun stamp set "Flower Fest" and joined it with one of the new In-Colors, "Pool Party", to create this simple card. I used the Ink/Spray/Smash technique on Splitcoast to create the background panel. My plan was that I was going to make a bunch of these cards as my "Thank You's", but the technique and coloring turned out to be more involved than I had time for. So what's a girl to do?
Well, that's when I turn to My Digital Studio. I used my Flower Fest layout and added some quick digital elements to create a similar card and then I printed my needed cards up. They were lifesavers!
Here they are head to head...while they both were fun to create, I still love stamping, coloring and the hands on that goes with a handmade card, but when you need something cute and quick, digital can be a lifesaver.
Hope that you've had a great start to your week so far. See you next time!

Triple Layer Punch Video

I heard from one of my customers that she had a difficult time with her Triple-Layer punch, so I wanted to share this Stampin' Up! video on how to use their new punches. I personally haven't had any problems with mine, but I thought that if there was anyone else out there who was running into problems, your would find this video helpful.

Hope this is helpful!

Life's Moments Explosion Scrapbook

We created this Scrapbook in a Box, as I like to call it, for our Project Class last month. The beautiful Paisley Petals DSP makes not only a beautiful box, but a beautiful scrap album, as well. The album features a couple of little envelopes with pull-out tags and several pages for journaling, along with cardstock photo frames.

If you missed this class, you can still get in on the fun. The PDF tutorial for the Paisley Petals Scrapbook is available, which includes a thorough and detailed list of supplies and dimensions along with an Illustrated Step-by-Step 24-page Tutorial (you'll also receive a PDF with journal lines and "Life's Moments" sentiment) to give you written and visual instruction for creating the project. The cost for the PDF class is $5 and can be purchased below by clicking on the "Buy Now" button. The PDF will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
