Oriental Thank You Tags

Here’s this month’s “Thank You” tags I made for our stamping friends. One of our friends has been creating some Oriental-themed cards (you can view her cards in our upcoming April Newsletter), which became my inspiration for the tags this month. I chose the colors based on my card stock scraps: River Rock, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade. The Lattice Bigz die made the perfect background, and then all that was needed was just a little sentiment. I used the sentiment from Tiny Tags and punched it out with the ¾” circle punch and added the Itty Bitty 4-petal punch in Early Espresso with a dot of White Gel pen to finish it off.

I just did this and it took about 5 minutes and it's FREE. You don't have to register or anything... just pick a card, type your name and hometown, and pick your sentiment. Our troops can use the encouragement, I'm sure. =)

My Digital Studio Thank You Card

My son's birthday was in August. Thank you cards have been on my "to-do" list. I'm obviously a tad bit (okay, A LOT!) behind on my list for a variety of reasons. I originally thought I would show him how to design one on MDS, but that just hasn't happened. Time just keeps flying by and these just need to get done (before the end of the year)! So, I made the card on MDS and thought I would share it with you. It's simple and nothing fancy, but it's something to share. My son requested that they be appropriate to give to a boy or a girl. I think this fits the bill. =)

How about you? On average, how long does it take you to get a thank you card out?

Retired Thank You's

I needed a bunch of "Thank You" cards to give out to all the thoughtful people in my life, and thought that I would challenge myself to use all retired Stampin' Up! products...even the stamp set. So, this is what I came up with. "Wow Flowers" is such a fun stamp set, wish it wasn't a retired set. Thanks for looking, we appreciate all of you.

 

A Hybrid Thank You

Isn't it nice to have a post from Adriel? Wow, and a one-handed post at that, complete with pictures. I love your color challenge card, BTW, Adriel!With my son's graduation and his 18th birthday he received quite a few gifts and cards, so he was in need of some "thank you's." This is when I love My Digital Studio. It is a time-saver when it comes to making cards. You're able to create that handcrafted card look and yet it's SO much faster and let's face it, sometimes you just need some fast cards to send out. These are the "thank you's" I made for him. A Thank You

From Heidi...I had a wonderful Mother's Day...I hope all of you mom's out there had a great one, too! My Mother's Day was full of eating. My son made me breakfast (yum!), we met Adriel and her family for Starbuck's (Starbuck's was offering frap's for 1/2 off last week), and then we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant, Mandarin Chef (on the SW corner of Queen Creek and Val Vista Rds., for those of you who live in AZ). The Thank You's Begin!

My mom and I have been working on some thank you cards to put in our Etsy shop for after the holidays. I worked on this set on Christmas... it really didn't seem like work, I was having a nice time. =) It was a relaxing and enjoyable thing to do while everyone else was doing things that were enjoyable to them (namely playing on the Wii).

I made a smaller sized card for this set, at 3-1/2"W x 5"H. They are basically note card size. I used the fabulous Medallion stamp from Stampin' Up! in white craft ink on Kraft CS. Had to let it dry (unless you emboss it, it takes quite a while to dry). Since I was making a set, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the image in the same place on each card. Spritzed the whole card front using the Color Spritzer tool and a Chocolate Chip marker... very lightly spritzed... I did a couple at first that were too heavily done and it didn't look very good. Added an 1/8" Old Olive cardstock strip for a pop of color and interest and stamped the cute "thank you" from the All Occasions set in Chocolate Chip ink. Done!
These won't be going in our Etsy shop at the moment because they already sold, but I'm thinking about making another set... we'll see. ;-)

My Digital Studio Hybrd

From Heidi...Here's a set of 10 cards I created the other day for a friend whose mother died. In lieu of flowers, I thought that she could use these "thank you" cards instead. I used My Digital Studio for the flourish and sentiment "a note of thanks," and then created the dimensionaled embellishment using the stampset Circle Circus and the the Scallop Circle punch. I was able to create these 10 cards in 45 minutes! What a time saver and I love how they turned out. I printed the flourish in Old Olive and the sentiment in Chocolate Chip. The stamped Circle Circus is Ruby Red and the Scalloped Circle backgroudn is Chocolate Chip. Pink and Blue

I'm sorry that this picture isn't edited, but I wanted to share this flower and card today and I'm short on time. I made a 3x3 card to set this pink Embossed Reinker Spread flower onto, so that the flower would be the largest focal point. It got lost on anything larger. I machine-stitched 2 irregular rows of stitching and used my Old Olive marker to draw a thin line inbetween them to create a stem for the flower. It's a simple card, but I love the Navy and Pink together. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

A Pretty Pink Thank You Card

The other day while browsing SplitCoast, I ran across THIS BEAUTIFUL CARD. Wow, right?! On Mother's Day, I was working on some card ideas (for a card kit) and also needed to make some thank you cards, so I CASED that beauty, although mine didn't turn out as beautiful... sometimes, that's just how it goes. =)

Simple Thank You's

I made a set of 10 simple "thank you's" as a gift for someone. I crimped a piece of Old Olive CS and cut it into 3" sections and centered it just under the paper piercing I'd done on the front of the card front. I stamped my image in Old Olive and Basic black, punched it out with the 1-3/8" square punch and then roughed up the edges of the CS with my nail. I punched a 1-3/4" square of Night of Navy for the background for the stamped image and then centered and dimensionaled those pieces to the front of the card. Thanks for looking!

Simple Thank You

I wanted to share this simple card layout with you. This layout was great for the "thank you" card I needed for a music teacher, who I knew would probably not take much notice of a card - and since it was being given by my 16 yo son, who doesn't like the ribbons or anything too decorative on something that he will be signing his name to - this basic card was the answer.You can take this simple layout and with a little ribbon, brads, or extra embellishments, it can easily go from basic to special. One of the things I love about SU products is that I can count on everything coordinating together - ink, paper, stamp sets, etc., and because of that this card went together quickly.

I took my color scheme from decorative paper I'd gotten at Michael's: Kraft, Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Very Vanilla

Blue and White Thank You's

Here's a set of 5 thank you cards I made last week. The Brilliant Blue with Kiwi Kiss makes a great combo, especially on the white. I was going to use the Stampin'Write markers to color the flower on the stamp set, but I don't have the Bold Bright markers, yet. So I used my blender pen and ink pads to color in the Brilliant Blue with the Regal Rose. I used Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive for the stem and leaf. I really like the effect. I crimped the Brilliant Blue CS to give some texture to the card. Thanks for looking!
