Look What Santa Brought!

Before the holidays are officially over with New Years being tomorrow, I thought I'd show you what the Two Happy Stampers got for Christmas. I guess Santa's elves know the secret directions for making Two Happy Stampers coupon organizers, because look what each of the Two Happy Stampers got!!
(I think Mom should be our official model for our coupon organizers... she looks great!)

Heehee... all the Santa stuff is just for fun, of course! ;-)
BTW, we will be adding new coupon organizers into our Etsy shop over the next couple of weeks, so if Santa forgot to bring you one, you can get one for yourself! =)

A Valentine...

From Heidi...I have been using my Christmas break to look at different "how to" blogs and having a bunch of fun! There is so much inspiration out there...I just need more time!! I came across a fun tutorial on how to make your own paper buttons. (Sorry, I will have to go back and find the blog that has the tutorial so that I can pass it on.) I tried it out and made this Valentine card with a layout I used for a Christmas card I made.
Basically the buttons are made with 4 layers of punched cardstock adhered together, and then a punched DS paper or stamped CS layer\ adhered on top. Lightly sand the edges, punch buttonholes (I used my Cropadile), and then add a nice layer of Crystal Effects to the top. Allow plenty of time for the Crystal Effects to dry... I learned that the hard way and messed up a button :-( That's it! Thanks for letting me share!

The Thank You's Begin!

From Adriel:

My mom and I have been working on some thank you cards to put in our Etsy shop for after the holidays. I worked on this set on Christmas... it really didn't seem like work, I was having a nice time. =) It was a relaxing and enjoyable thing to do while everyone else was doing things that were enjoyable to them (namely playing on the Wii).

I made a smaller sized card for this set, at 3-1/2"W x 5"H. They are basically note card size. I used the fabulous Medallion stamp from Stampin' Up! in white craft ink on Kraft CS. Had to let it dry (unless you emboss it, it takes quite a while to dry). Since I was making a set, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the image in the same place on each card. Spritzed the whole card front using the Color Spritzer tool and a Chocolate Chip marker... very lightly spritzed... I did a couple at first that were too heavily done and it didn't look very good. Added an 1/8" Old Olive cardstock strip for a pop of color and interest and stamped the cute "thank you" from the All Occasions set in Chocolate Chip ink. Done!
These won't be going in our Etsy shop at the moment because they already sold, but I'm thinking about making another set... we'll see. ;-)

Hope you all had a nice Christmas! Enjoy your week and don't forget those thank you's! <------ reminder to myself more than anything! =) Thanks for stopping by!

Ribbon Weave

From Heidi...
I love cardmaking, but I also really love sewing and anything related to fabric, so when I saw this Ribbon Weave technique on Lynn Pratt's blog, I had to try it. It's a little addictive, as you can tell...once I got started I had to try the weave on different types of ribbon. My granddaughter, Kayla, was over one day and I showed her this technique which she quickly took to and she made the long pink chain of ribbon. As she was weaving the ribbon she was thinking of all the ways she could use this chain of ribbon. One thought she had was to use it as a hair embellishment, so we picked up some plastic headbands and finished the ends of the ribbon chain and hot-glued the ribbon chain to the headband. It came out so nice, and Kayla did such a great job keeping her weave tension even.Another idea of Kayla's is to use it as a belt, so that will be our next ribbon weave project. I just received JoAnn's advertisement and the good news is that they're having a 50% off sale on all their ribbon next week...you know what we'll be busy doing! Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!!

What We've Been Up To

From Adriel:

Besides cards, that is! =) This time of the year there are just other fun things to do that grab our attention.

The kids made "faux" gingerbread houses (with graham crackers)... these were our budget gingerbread houses. Cheap graham crackers, candy from the dollar store, tube frosting (probably the most expensive element)... still just as fun! The kids were busy for quite a while decorating their houses. While they decorated, we got some baking done. =)

We visited a Christmas Trains lights display... these people are really into trains and their whole backyard was pretty much dedicated to the display. I took pictures before it got dark, but at night time it was lit up. Very cute! =)

Had to show off my Christmas rolls... I baked them ahead of time and put them in the freezer. Of course, I sampled one first... with butter on it. It was yum-yum-yummy!

We hope you're enjoying the fun things that make this time of the year special to you, even if it's just sitting on the couch! Whatever makes it special, enjoy yourself and if we don't pop in here before the 25th, have a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!

Any Occasion Placecard

From Adriel:

Wow, another post from me! Hard to believe, huh? =)

Just wanted to share a couple more placecards with you that could be holiday-ish, but would also be great for a variety of occasions.

I used the fun image from Wow Flowers on this... I really like that set and don't use it nearly as much as I should! Taken w/ Teal and Ruby Red are the colors for this placecard.

Used the fun whimsy circle from the Priceless set on this and stamped it in VersaMark and then added silver embossing powder. Love the finish on the black! =)

Had one more, but the picture didn't come out that great. Oh well... =/

Have a great weekend!

Holiday Placecards

From Adriel:

Haven't been working on a whole lot the past couple of weeks... got some bug and it just hung on for dear life! Anyway, today I felt more like myself and hopefully am on the way out of being sick! =)

I have found some time (and energy) to squeeze in a bit of creating over the past few weeks and here's some placecards I made a week or so ago. Fun! =)

The placecards measure 3-5/8" x 4" and are scored @ 2" for a tent-style placecard. Sometimes smaller scale is fun to work with. When you've done a lot of cards, working with something smaller can be a great creative break! =)

Thanks for stopping by! I'm sorry I've been so absent lately... just a lot going on right now in life. =)
