Happy Easter

(there's too many fun promos to list them all here)

Here's a card to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I case'd Alene's punch art flower to use as the focal point of my card. She used the Blossom Builder punch and oval punch to create the flower.
Supplies:
CS: Whisper White,, Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder
INK: Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke, Basic Black
SS: Teeny Tiny Wishes, You Are Loved
BIG SHOT:Framed Tulip EB Folder, Ovals framelit, Itty Bitty Banners
PUNCHES: Blossom Builder, Oval

Since it's Easter, I wanted to share this song which expresses what Christ did for us. I hope you all have a very Happy Easter!

Lyrics for Power of the Cross
Oh, to see the dawn
Of the darkest day:
Christ on the road to Calvary.
Tried by sinful men,
Torn and beaten, then
Nailed to a cross of wood.

CHORUS:
This, the pow'r of the cross:
Christ became sin for us;
Took the blame, bore the wrath-
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Oh, to see the pain
Written on Your face,
Bearing the awesome weight of sin.
Ev'ry bitter thought,
Ev'ry evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow.

Now the daylight flees;
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two,
Dead are raised to life;
"Finished!" the vict'ry cry.

Oh, to see my name
Written in the wounds,
For through Your suffering I am free.
Death is crushed to death;
Life is mine to live,
Won through Your selfless love.

FINAL CHORUS:
This, the pow'r of the cross:
Son of God-slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross.

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

(there's too many fun promos to list them all here)

I've finally found some time to use some of the fun Sale-A-Bration items I got free. Better late than never, right? Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for my youngest granddaughter, who is turning one. I tried to create a card that was pink and soft, but it just didn't fit her personality. The bright colors of the Sycamore Street DSP reflect her busyness and fun, bouncy countenance best.
I used the cute stamp set Bring on the Cake, stamping it in Island Indigo and then used Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfuit and Island Indigo markers to color and decorate the outlined numbers.

I hope that you're having a great day!

Supplies:
CS: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Sycamore Street DSP (SAB-2013)
INK: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfuit
SS: Bring on the Cake(121899)
BIG SHOT: Labels Collection Framelit (125598), Stripes folder (123128)
PUNCHES: 7/8" Scallop (129404), Itty Bitty Shapes (118309)
ACCESSORIES: Jewels-Rhinestones (119246), 3/8" ruffled Island Indigo ribbon (122974)

Pink Baby Girl

(there's too many fun promos to list them all here)

Today's share is a simple "new baby" card. I love the Papillon Potpourri stamp set. The coordinating Elegant butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches make it simple to create a quick embellishment for a card or scrapbooking. I did use MDS for the Early Espresso sentiment "it's a girl!", everything else was done the handmade way. (BTW...The price for My Digital Studio has been permanently reduced to $19.95)

Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
CS: Whisper White, Primrose Petals, Subtles Collection DSP (117152)
INK: Early Espresso, Primrose Petals
SS: Papillon Potpourri (123759), MDS Nursery Necessities (it's a girl)
BIG SHOT: Adorning Accents edgelit (125595), Perfect Polka Dots folder (117335)
PUNCHES: Elegant Butterfly (127526), Bitty Butterfly (129406)
ACCESSORIES: Jewels-Rhinestones (119246), 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon (126871)

Hybrid Melon Mambo Birthday

CLICK HERE TO VIEW STAMPIN' UP'S PROMOTIONS
(there's too many fun promos to list here)

This birthday card was created using My Digital Studio. I used SAB's digital version of Madison Avenue and Vintage Verses stamp sets on a Melon Mambo digital DSP background and ran that through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder for texture. I punched out Melon Mambo Itty Bitty Shapes and added them to the digital images... and what's a card without a little bit of "bling"?

Thanks for stopping by!

Gift of Friendship Online Class

Today I'm excited about being able to post my newest online class tutorial
the Gift of Friendship class.
My local stamping friends will be creating the Gift of Friendship card, shown above, from this class in a few weeks (March 19 and March 23 to be exact), using the addicting Faux Chalkboard technique. I love this technique, especially when used with the From the Heart stamp set. The two go together perfectly.

The online class tutorial includes four projects for you to create: A scalloped country basket which holds a set of 3x3 decorative blank cards with envelopes and a sweet scalloped tea bag holder. This matching friendship card completes the set.

If you'd like more information on the online class tutorial, you can Click Here or click on my Tutorials for Sale button on the right of my blog.

If you're local and would like to join in my on-site class, I still have a few spots open for March 19, 7-9 PM and March 23, 2-4 PM classes. Contact me for more information.

Just Believe Sympathy

Sympathy cards are just not fun cards to have to make or give away. This is a card I made for someone who lost a baby they were going to adopt...so sad. I used the Just Believe stamp set and earthy colors (Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Old Olive, Calypso Coral) with some sponging to soften the feel of the card. I hope the card brings them a moment of comfort.

Supplies:
CS: Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP (from Holiday mini)
INK: Early Espresso, Calypso Coral
SS: Just Believe(120453)
BIG SHOT: Top Note Bigz (113463), Bitty Banners framelits (129267)
PUNCHES: Blossom Petals Builder (121808), Blossom (125603)

An Anniversary Card

I know this looks like yet ANOTHER Valentine's card, but it's really an anniversary card. My inspiration for this card came from one of Nerina's cards from SCS. I pulled out my retired stamp set "Wonderful Words" (still one of my all-time favorites) for the sentiment. The designer papers are from the More Amore DSP, which has so many fun and cheery designs to choose from.

Supplies:
CS: Real Red, Whisper White, More Amore DSP (129309)
INK: Real Red, Early Espresso
SS: Wonderful Words (Retired)
BIG SHOT: Heart framelit (125599) Perfect Polka Dots EB folder (117335)
PUNCHES: Postage Stamp (122344), Small Heart (117193)
ACCESSORIES: Simply Scored Tool (122334), Rhinestone Jewels (119246)

Doily Heart Valentine

I kind of went crazy making Valentine cards this year, but my plan was to make a bunch of different kinds of Valentine's and then pick out the three favorites for a class. This was one of my favorites, even though it didn't make the class cut. It's a great card to make one of, but the prep work and all the steps involved would have been too much for a two-hour class.
I think this was one of the first Valentine cards I made so I wanted to use my new framelits, dies, and embossing folders, the important thing is that I had fun making this card, which is what it's all about anyway, right?

Have a great day!
Supplies:
CS: Real Red, Whisper White
INK: Real Red, Early Espresso
SS: You are Loved (123779)
BIG SHOT: Heart framelit (125599), large scallop edgelit (127019), Delicate Doilies sizzlit (126999), Delicate Designs eb foler (127023), square Lattice folder (119976)

You Are Loved Birthday and a Poem

For information on the items below, click on their links

This card was for my oldest granddaughter. When she was a toddler she had imaginary butterflies who were her friends. One of her butterflies names was Zsa-Zsa. She has since gotten older, so I used the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and coordinating Elegant Butterfly punch to create a grown up Zsa-Zsa butterfly to add to her grown up card.
The color combination and Framed Tulip idea came from one of "Create with Connie and Mary's" color challenges (Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade).
I keep finding myself using the You are Loved stamp set, which worked so well for the floral motifs. The sentiment "Happiest Birthday" is from the Apothecary Art stamp set.

My granddaughter submitted a poem to Answers in Genesis and they published it on their blog. I'm sharing her poem here and the link to the post, "An Eleven-year-old Who Gets It!"

Oh, what a sight
When God created light.
He called the light day
And the darkness night.
He separated darkness
From light as you know.
God saw that it was good.
And this is not just a show.

What did God do
On day number two?
I’ll give you a hint,
I’ll give you a clue.
Sometimes it’s black
And sometimes it’s blue.
It’s heaven or sky,
Remember the clue?

What would it be like
Without fruit, trees, or plants?
Just try to imagine it.
I bet you can’t.
If God hadn’t created
Land on the third day
You’d always be floating
Or swimming.  No way!

Three days have passed
And there still are more.
And right now it is
Day number four.
When God creates
Very wonderful lights.
Like stars, sun, and moon
For thousands of nights.

This is what
The fifth day features:
Sea animals and Flying creatures.
He made all those
Creatures on that day.
And that is all
I have to say.

Now the sixth day
Is very neat.
So how about
We have a seat.
He made animals of land
And formed man by His hand.
Out of dust man came
And soon you will find out his name.

It’s day number seven
And our week is done.
Watching God create
Was really fun.
Now it’s time for
God to rest.
Which day did
You like the best?

Thanks for letting me share!

Faux Chalkboard You are Loved

I've been noticing how popular the "chalkboard" look is right now. I've seen it in advertisements, cardmaking, scrapbooking, etc., so I thought that I'd try the Faux Chalkboard technique out for myself. I found a great video tutorial HERE, which helped me to create this card. I liked this technique and had a lot of fun with it.
I used Stampin' Up's Whisper White Craft ink for the "chalk" look on Not Quite Navy CS, and a white Prismacolor pencil to outline the inside of one of the Labels Collection framelits and to create the banner for the stamped sentiment from the You are Loved stamp set.
Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies:
CS: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Ink: Whisper White Craft
Big Shot: Labels Framelit (125598), Framed Tulips EB folder (121809)
Punches: Itty Bitty shapes (126881)

Lattice You Are Loved Valentine

I love how the Lattice Bigz die fits behind the 3-3/8" Hearts Collection framelit. One of the themes I used to create this year's Valentines was "Negative Space" or cut-outs, and then tried to figure out some fun ideas to place behind the heart cut-outs. The framelits make it super easy to cut out a negative space anywhere on your card.
I used the beautiful stamp set You Are Loved, which is a great stamp set for any occasion, not just for Valentine's Day. I have a Hearts A Plenty free tutorial for this card (sorry, it's minus photo-by-photo directions), which you'll be able to find under my Free Tutorials.

More Amore Heart Valentine

The More Amore DSP is such a fun Valentine-themed paper. I wanted a Valentine card that was less frilly and more on the fun side. The More Amore DSP and Chevron EB folder worked together well to create that fun. I used one of my Faux Metal buttons for the button accent, but the new Silver Designer Buttons from the Mini catalog would work great here. I have a Hearts A Plenty free tutorial (sorry, it's minus photo-by-photo directions) for this card, which you'll be able to find under my Free Tutorials.

Fancy Fan Valentine

First off, since this is my first post of the year, I want to wish you all a very
Happy New Year!
Now, onto stamping and Valentine's Day. I wanted to make a CAS Valentine card and this is what I came up with. I used the new Needlepoint Border EB folder from the new Mini catalog as my textured accent on the card front. For the heart, I used the Primrose Petals Core'dinations CS and the Fancy Fan EB folder, and lightly sanded the raised impressions to create the light and dark on the heart framelit. The You are Loved stamp set provided the sentiment and floral accent. I've posted the supply list below. Thanks for dropping by!

Supply List:
CS: Whisper White, Primrose Petals Core'dinations CS (129322), Real Red
Ink: Primrose Red, Early Espresso
SS: You are Loved (123779)
Big Shot: Fancy Fan EB folder (127751), Hearts Collection framelit (125599), Needlepoint Border EB folder (129383)

Rustic Best of Everything

Here's a card share that is not Christmas related. It's a special card I made for a friend who needed a pick-me-up. I used the great Woodgrain embossing folder on Crumb Cake and dragged my Early Espresso stamp pad over the raised embossed image, sponging the edges of the card, the So Saffron label, and DSP with the same ink. I used my Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, and Early Espresso markers to color and ink up the Best of Everything stamp set. The blender pen was great for blending the colors together. I cut out the tree and the stamped leaves, layering them for a 3-D look. Paper-piercing, twine and rhinestones helped to finish up the rustic feel of the card.
Thanks a bunch for dropping by!
