Polka Dot Anniversary

I'm on a polka dot roll here...this time using a Pool Party polka dot with Real Red accents. This is a simple Anniversary card with a stamped "Happy Anniversary" in a word bubble. The Word Bubbles are a fun way to create stamped embellishments.

The two little hearts represent the sweet couple celebrating their anniversary :-)

Mosaic Madness Poinsetta

I'm sharing another Mosaic Madness Christmas card. I've seen several cards around using the Mosaic Madness stamp set and Mosaic punch to create a poinsetta and leaves, so had to try my hand at it. My poinsetta is a Strawberry Slush, since this is one of my favorite reds these days.

I used the Square Lattice embossing folder for a background. I dragged my Strawberry Slush inkpad over the raised embossing to create the white and red texture.

Well, here's the last of the Six-Sided Sampler cards for now. The set also includes some really cute girly patterns and sentiments, so will have to try those out in the near future. I went with stripes for this card and yes, of course sequins.

These cards were fun to make. Coming up with 3 cards while staying with the same stamp sets and color scheme made it fun.

A Diagonal Father's Day

I have been enjoying playing around with two of the stamp sets from this year's catalog...Six-Sided Sampler and Tape It. Their geometric shapes make great masculine cards. I stuck with these two stamp sets and the same color scheme for all of my masculine cards. Since that part was already figured out, I was able to spend my time playing around with designing...the fun part!

 I've never used the color Summer Starfruit before I made these cards (I didn't think that I liked it, but I guess I do in certain cases?), but I think it worked well in this color scheme.

A Week of Masculine Cards

This week I'll be sharing some masculine themed cards since Father's Day is right around the corner. Today's card uses the Six-Sided Sampler, Tape It, and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. The color scheme is Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.

Yes, I'm stuck on the sequins thing right now, but I like the colored bling and the fact that since this card is very geometric, the little circled sequins fit right in with all the other shapes. I used the sentiment Happy Father's Day, but Happy Birthday could easily be swapped in to make this a masculine birthday card.

Tea for Two Mother's Day

May is a month of birthdays along with Mother's Day for us. I've been trying to get a head start on some of these upcoming cards now and because the new catalog is just around the corner, I want to try and make want these cards from the supplies I have on hand...kind of my last "wahoo" with the 2012-13 supplies.

I punched filter paper colored with Calypso Coral reinker and alcohol, to create the paper flower embellishment.

Red Blossoms

Today I'm sharing a card featuring my old favorites along with new items from the new 2012-13 catalog. The stamp set, Bright Blossoms  is super cute, especially when combined with the Summer Smooches DSP . I used the 3/4" circle punch for the big flower and a couple of handheld hole punches for the two smaller-sized flowers. I'm still loving the Adorning Accents edgelit and folder, along with the oval shape Designer Frame folder, which I used to create all the fun texture on my Whisper White decorative panel. The new Bitty Banners framelits  makes the cutest sentiment strip, especially when used with the coordinating Itty Bitty Banners stamp set. I used one of my favorite stamp sets on this card, Teeny Tiny Wishes, which also fits nicely with the Bitty Banners framelits.

Big Yellow Flower Fest

Don’t you love this BIG Flower Fest flower. We were trying to decide what type of flower this really is in one my classes. I think we finally all decided it was some type of Chrysanthemum. Whatever it is, I love it! It’s the perfect size to be a focal point. This stamp set has great leaves, too.

I chose my leftover Bashful Blue Paisley Petals pattern for this card. The neutral Crumb Cake and Whisper White CS makes a nice subtle background for the bold red, black and yellow. The Old Olive leaves also soften the bold colors. I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for the sentiment.

Hello Baby

My two favorite stamp sets for sentiments are the Teeny Tiny Wishes and Petite Pairs...between the two stamp sets I always have the perfect sentiment for my cards. This is a card I made for a friend's daughter and her husband. I used the Petite Pairs sentiment "so glad you're here!" on the inside of the card. Obviously they had a girl , based on my color choices:-)

A Valentine Share

Wow, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day have all come and gone, and here we are heading towards the next fun event...Valentine's Day. I spent part of my December break playing around with my new Mini Occasion goodies, which are now available to everyone. On today's card I used pieces and leftovers from the Valentine cards I made for this month's Card Class.

The little pieces put together made for a clean and super simple card.

Scalloped Faux Metal Gratitude

This is the last card we made in my Fall-Themed class this month. This features the MDS digital medallion stamp from Day of Gratitude, so I guess it qualifies as a hybrid card.We used water coloring to color in the medallion and we made our own Faux Metal textured metal paper for the background paper and button. This was a lot of fun to create and share with all of my stamping gals. They all did such a great job!

• Here's a mini tutorial for the Faux Metal technique:

Supplies: Aluminum Foil, cardstock, glue stick, textured impression folder

Use glue stick to glue aluminum foil to cardstock. Apply glue stick liberally.

Place aluminum foil over cardstock and use bone folder to make sure that you get a good adhesion between the foil and cardstock. I chose the burnished aluminum side versus the shiny side for my Faux Metal piece.

Cut out your Faux Metal shape of choice using a punch or by placing your foil/cardstock piece face down on the Big Shot die. I chose the Scallops #2 die, large scallop.

Place your Faux Metal shape into a textured impression embossing folder and run through Big Shot.Voila!  You have yourself a very cool looking metal shape. For extra interest, add some alcohol inks to color and distress your Faux Metal shape.
