Hybrid Baby Card

Here's a simple baby card that combines digital stamping and traditional elements, making it a hybrid card. I used one of the tags from the Tags For All digital kit and combined it with the Kind & Cozy stamp set and Gingham Garden DSP. The midnight blue heart is from the Kind & Cozy digital stamp which I enlarged.

One of the things that I like about creating digitally is that once you design your elements, you can save them and use them again simply by printing them out, because all the design work is already done.

Have a great day!

Baseball Card

...............................................
My grandson just celebrated his birthday and he is in love with baseball. To celebrate him and his love for baseball I created this fun card for him. My inspiration came from a photo I found on Zazzle.com.
I used the 4" circle framelit and Very Vanilla CS to create the ball, scoring the seams and filling them in with a black marker. I punched holes with a piercing tool and then used the holes and variegated red yarn to make the stitching. I stitched along one side and came back on the other, using the center hole for both sides.
Some sponging with Crumb Cake gave it the shading and dimension it needed. I used the now retired stamp set "Word Play" for the sentiment.

I really had a lot of fun making this card. Thanks so much for letting me share it with you.

Supplies:
CS: Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Birthday Basic DSP (130145)
INK: Raspberry Ripple, Basic Black marker, Crumb Cake
SS: Word Play (retired)
BIG SHOT:Circles Collection framelit (130911)
ACCESSORIES: Paper Piercer, red variegated yarn, needle, sequins

Tags For All Sample

Last month I downloaded the MDS Tags For All designer template and I am having so much fun with it. I created my Stamp Club ladies' tags with it last month (I'll share those later on), and this month I tried out the bow and one of the Happy Birthday tags for my grandson's present.

I kept the birthday tag the size it opens up in, but it can be enlarged or reduced to your liking. The only thing I did change was to recolor the border and the "to you" banner. I love how big the tag is and when the bow is attached to the top of the tag you end up with the cutest looking present. What a fun download!

I thought I'd share with you a simple blow-by-blow on how I made the bow. I used the digital version of Polka Dot Parade DSP download to fill in the bow punch parts and printed them out on a sheet of paper, then printed the backside of my print out with the same DSP, so that the bow would have a pattern on the front and backsides when folded. BTW...you can fill the punches with any color or any DSP you have downloaded. You can also resize the bow to enlarge or reduce it.

I cut out the bow parts (saving the DSP remnants for another project) then began assembling the bow by gently bending/folding each bow end toward the center and taping the ends down at the center.

Matching the center sections, I taped the bow to the bottom layer which is the bow ends.

I wrapped the bow strip around the center section of bow and bow ends, taping the ends to the backside.I taped it onto my package over my great big tag and I now I have a simple and super cute gift package.

Hello, Baby Card

Today's CAS card share is a baby card I made for a friend. I was inspired by a baby card Laura Haffke created, so I used her half-embossed folder idea to create this fun card using the new Tape-It, Sweet Essentials and Six-Sided Sampler stamp sets.
The Tape-It stamp set gives a Washi tape look to your cards, plus you can stamp the tape look in any color you want along with different tape designs. I did use my old faithful Stampamajig to make sure I got the stamps lined up straight.
I used a bright pink Sharpie pen to color my rhinestones so that they would match the Strawberry Slush ink.
So glad that you stopped by! Have a wonderful day.
Supplies:
CS: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush

PUNCHES: Hexagon (130919), Boho Blossom (119858), Itty Bitty shapes (118309)

Today the Holiday Mini catalog goes live which means you can begin ordering your holiday favorites. The catalog is full of cute and festive products to help you get started on your holiday projects. A new feature in this year's catalog is the new augmented reality feature, enabling you to see videos that show the products in action. It's easy enough for newbies, fun enough for tech-savvy users, and free!
  1. Install the free Layar app to your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Using the Layar app, scan any catalog page that has the Stampin' Up! Interactive icon on it.
Different mobile devices work differently with different apps. Some are faster than others, some take more steps to load videos, etc. With the Layar app, we have noticed these differences in user experience too.

ALSO... Today the new Thinlits Card Dies are available. These fun dies create what's been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! The new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step.
I love all the extra coordinating die pieces that comes with each thinlit. These sets make for lots of creative possibilities!

Thanks for stopping by!
