Today's CAS card share is a baby card I made for a friend. I was inspired by a baby card Laura Haffke created, so I used her half-embossed folder idea to create this fun card using the new Tape-It, Sweet Essentials and Six-Sided Sampler stamp sets.
The Tape-It stamp set gives a Washi tape look to your cards, plus you can stamp the tape look in any color you want along with different tape designs. I did use my old faithful Stampamajig to make sure I got the stamps lined up straight.

 I used a bright pink Sharpie pen to color my rhinestones so that they would match the Strawberry Slush ink.

Summer Punched Strawberry

In this month's class we celebrated summer by creating summer themed punched cards. Today I'm posting the strawberry punch card we made, using the Sweet Essential stamp set. Another idea I had for this strawberry was to heat emboss the bottom section of the punched strawberry with a dark brown to look like a chocolate-dipped strawberry.

I used a lot of texture as well as a bright band of the Summer Smooches DSP, and the stamp set A Fitting Occasion...a fun, bright, simple card.

I found a couple of cards that I made awhile back but never posted. Since I'm in between card making right now, it's the perfect time to share them. On this card I was trying out different ways to use negative space along with the stamp set A Fitting Occasion. I came up with this simple card.

I created the scallop circle frame by punching a circle into a piece of cardstock and then centering the scallop circle punch around the negative punched circle to create the scallop circle frame.

Scallop Flower Trio Thank You

Remember a few posts ago when I told you about the diversity of florals in the Mixed Bunch stamp set? These cute little blooms are from this set.

Mix these cute blooms with two new in-colors, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe, and you get a pretty card.

This Old Olive stamped branch is from the Summer Silhouettes stamp set which hangs above the embossed Large Scallop edgelit. The sentiment is from the Best of Greetings stamp set or it can be found in the retired Thank You Kindly set.

Open House Tutorial

Yesterday I held my annual New Catalog Workshop for my stamping gals. I was going to take pictures of the day, but in all the hustle and bustle I completely forgot! I emailed one of the ladies that the Catalog Workshop is a little crazy (how could it not be with 23 of us stamping at the same time!), but always a lot of fun. The ladies that stamp with me are the part that make up the fun. Thank you to everyone who came! Sure was a fun day :-)

MDS Lovely As a Tree

Today's card was created using My Digital Studio after I was inspired by a layout in a paper catalog I received. I thought the Lovely As a Tree digital stamp would work out well for this sympathy card.

 I lightly water colored Soft Suede over parts of the digital stamp to create shadowing. I also used the Simply Scored tool and paper piercing to give the card a handmade touch.

Mixed Bunch Thank You

This Mixed Bunch stamp set has a variety of floral images that fit the Blossom punch, from playful to this elegant pattern. I combined the new Coastal Cabana and the tried and true Early Espresso inks to create a simple but elegant card. The sentiment is from the Best of Greetings stamp set. It can also be found in the retired stamp set Thank You Kindly.

A bit of paper-piercing and a touch of bling adds a couple of extras to this card.

A Card for My Son

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my son's birthday, wrapping up my week of masculine cards. I don't usually make him elaborate cards, since he is a guy, but this was for his 21st birthday. He's been playing classical guitar since he was 6 and his guitar has taken us on a lot of adventures together.

Since turning 21 marks a milestone, I've been reminiscing on the past and thought I'd create a guitar to celebrate all the fun memories he and his guitar have made over the years.

This card was a lot of fun to make, not your standard stamp, punch and assemble. I enjoyed having a bit of a challenge this time around.

A Diagonal Father's Day

I have been enjoying playing around with two of the stamp sets from this year's catalog...Six-Sided Sampler and Tape It. Their geometric shapes make great masculine cards. I stuck with these two stamp sets and the same color scheme for all of my masculine cards. Since that part was already figured out, I was able to spend my time playing around with designing...the fun part!

 I've never used the color Summer Starfruit before I made these cards (I didn't think that I liked it, but I guess I do in certain cases?), but I think it worked well in this color scheme.

A Week of Masculine Cards

This week I'll be sharing some masculine themed cards since Father's Day is right around the corner. Today's card uses the Six-Sided Sampler, Tape It, and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets. The color scheme is Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.

Yes, I'm stuck on the sequins thing right now, but I like the colored bling and the fact that since this card is very geometric, the little circled sequins fit right in with all the other shapes. I used the sentiment Happy Father's Day, but Happy Birthday could easily be swapped in to make this a masculine birthday card.

Strawberry Crush Butterfly Thank You

I'm switching gears today and sharing a more detailed thank you card using the Strawberry Slush ink and card stock. There are great colors in this year's new in-colors, with Strawberry Slush being one of my favorites. It's a cross between pink and red....very pretty! I used lots of fun embellishments on this one. I began with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit and textured it using the Square Lattice EB folder. The stamped butterfly is from the stamp set Papillon Potpourri which coordinates with the Elegant Butterfly punch and the sentiment is from the Best of Greetings. The greenery is the Little Leaves Sizzlit which I cut apart and adhered together so that it branched out at one end.

I love the wide scallop edge on the Large Scallop Edgelit and coordinating Delicate Designs EB folder. Everything worked together so nicely on this card. I love it when that happens.

Two CAS Thank You's

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards with you. On the first one I used a clear acrylic stamp block to create the bold geometric colored background. I rubbed the block onto my ink pads, then gave the block a quick mist of water before stamping onto my Whisper White CS. The inks I used were Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and Tangerine Tango. Make sure that you clean the block in between colors if you try this out for yourself.

I stamped my sentiment in Basic Black using the retired stamp set "Thank You Kindly", but the new stamp set Sweet Essentials (which just happens to be on sale for 25% off until June 30, see my promo page for more information) would work great for the sentiment. I added a sequin to each of the blocks for a bit of blingy fun.

My second card share today is just a very, very simple card featuring a DSP banner adhered to the Crumb Cake card front, which is embossed using the Stripes EB folder. I was daring and ran a bottle cap through the Big Shot to flatten it out. It worked great and created the cute little circular frame for the stamped and punched sentiment from the A Fitting Occasion stamp set.

The bottle cap was adhered to a Daffodil Delight Scallop Circle and a Midnight Muse Itty Bitty punched circle was placed in the center of the stamped circle, with a rhinestone bling.
