Friday Blogger's Challenge
I'm joining the Friday Blogger's Challenge with my Red, White and Blue Wish Big! The theme is masculine cards, so there's a bunch of fun cards and masculine ideas for you to view.
I know I already posted this card last week, but this is one of the cards we'll be making this Tuesday for my Masculine-Patriotic themed class, so thought I'd repost it and join in the blog hop, too. BTW, I still have available spots in my evening class if you'd like to join us.
List Mom LISA's Blog is HERE. You can join in the blog hop by linking below.

MDS Father's Day
Here's my quick, simple, but fun, digital Father's Day card for my husband. The only addition I added was a cut-out DSP tie, which I dimensionaled onto the card front. Even though he rarely wears a tie, I thought I'd add one, just to make it look like a card for a special day, since the only time he wears a tie is for something really special. I liked this digital stamp sentiment, I really like to spend time with him...he's a great friend, husband and father.
I really wish that I had more time to play around with MDS...every time I use it, I think it's so cool, as I think of all the fun things I could do with it. Lots of possibilities!
See you next time!

In-Color Fifth Avenue
For today's card share I used a couple of the new 2011-12 In-Colors, Calypso Coral and Pool Party, along with Early Espresso (for the card base) and Crumb Cake (front panel).
I really wasn't planning on making a card today, but when I came into my craft room I came across leftover pieces of punched cardstock and a Fifth Avenue Reinker Spread rose and a card began to develop. I really tried to stay focused on the other things I needed to do today, but the card was calling to be made. So, since I did need a birthday card for a friend, I gathered my leftover pieces and came up with this card. I think my favorite part of the card is the color combination. These four colors look great together.
Thanks for letting me share a piece of my creative day with you...and thanks so much for stopping by :-)

A Little Bit of This and That
My card share today has just what the title says...a little bit of this and a little bit of that. My layout was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I'm using one of the new 2011-2012 In-Colors "Pool Party" for the card base and also the new Postage Stamp punch from the new Summer Mini Catlaog. The DSP is from last year's SAB DSP, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the DSP, but it was a 6x6" stack of paper with little houses printed on some of the sheets...too cute!
Well, since the DSP matched the Pool Party, I thought I'd use the DSP to turn my retired clear buttons into cute matching buttons. One thing that's always fun when the new In-Colors are introduced is that you get to play around and try them out with other colors. I love how Real Red coordinates with the Pool Party...it creates a very cheery and summery feel. Thanks for stopping by...See you next time!

Graduation Money Holders
I am thrilled to share these money holders with you, because they're Adriel's creations. WooHoo!! How fun to share someone else's work and these are just too cute! We're at the end of celebrating graduations, I think this is the last week. It's been fun to come up with graduation themed cards and gift card holders...it makes the creative brain stretch a little bit.
Even though these money holders share the basic folds, the DSP, stamping and embellishments give them both completely different looks. If you hadn't noticed, one is for a male and the other is for a female. Adriel used retired DSP for both of these.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you're having a great weekend!

Red, White and Blue Wish Big
How's your June going so far? I hope great! The summer is here and the outdoors is calling me, which makes it difficult to stay focused on things that I need to get done, because I keep looking for a reason to be outside. Apart from feeling a bit distracted, I've been getting ready for my son's 19th birthday and graduations of friend's that are coming up this weekend, which means cards.
I thought that I'd join in the Friday Blogger's Challenge with this card.
I did stay focused yesterday and got all my cutting and prepping done for this month's card classes. I'm looking forward to getting back to stamping with everyone again this month especially since we're making the Patriotic and Masculine themed cards. I used the Square Lattice textured embossing folder on each card, along with the Inlaid Embossing Technique (click here for a how-to video tutorial) for a couple of the cards. The stampset for this card is Word Play . It's loaded with great sentiments, especially the "Wish Big" sentiment. The fact that it's big and bold makes it a great focal point for a card. If you'd like to join us this month for any of my classes, check out my calendar for details. My first class for the month is this Tuesday, 6/14, at Tumbleweed Recreation Center.
Have a great day and thanks a bunch for stopping by :-)

Uncle Sam Want YOU...
I used Dawn Olchefske's cute, punched Uncle Sam as the theme for one of the cards for my June Patriotic-Masculine themed class and changed him up a little bit. I thought I'd leave the sentiment up to the stamper's in my class. The "Happy Birthday" from Messages for Mom fits perfectly, but I also printed up some other sentiments. Since it's definitely Patriotic looking, I created a "Happy 4th of July", also an "Uncle Sam Wants YOU..." with a card insert that says, "...to have a Happy Birthday!" Just some fun options to personalize the cards a little bit.
I ventured a tad from the traditional Red, White and Blue, and used River Rock in lieu of White, Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler, with So Saffron and Very Vanilla accents.
Hand Stamped Sentiments is having a Paper Piecing challenge this week, so thought that I'd enter this card into the challenge. Lots of cute cards and inspiration in this week's challenge.
Thanks so much for taking a look...hope that you're having a great day!

Quicky Floret Tags
Here's what I made for my customer's "Thank You" tags this month.
I used My Digital Studio to create all of these bright and cheery digital tags. The Fabulous Florets images came out so clear and vibrant. In MDS, I opened the Tag option to create the floral layout and added the "Thank You" sentiment. I colored my flowers in Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight. My sentiment is in Early Espresso.
I saved my tag as a jpeg, opened up Word, inserted my jpeg Tag picture and then resized it, copied and pasted it several more times on my document. Then I printed it out on Whisper White cardstock, trimmed the tags, corner rounded the upper left and bottom right tag corners, punched a hole in the centers, and added my ribbon. Thanks for stopping by...hope that you're having a great day!

Fabulous Florets Thank You How-To
This beautiful floral image is from the new Summer Mini's Fabulous Florets. This time around, I decided to purchase the My Digital Studio's digital Fabulous Floret download, instead of the actual stamp set and I've enjoyed the versatility of the digital set.
I needed some quick "Thank You" cards, but I wanted them to be special, so I went hybrid. I love how they turned out and wanted to share a very quick "how-to" here with you.
Pretty easy, huh? And the best part, is that if you need more cards, you can just print out the card parts, punch a few pieces of cardstock, and within a few minutes you have yourself some beautiful cards.
Also, Stampin' Up! is offering a My Digital Studio Express-Downloadable Version for $39.95, which is the full My Digital Studio software, but with minimal digital content. It's an affordable option allowing you to pick and choose which downloads you need and want. Thanks for stopping by!

Secret Message Video Share
I'm so glad that you stopped by today because I have something really fun to share with you.
It's this card...well actually it's the technique for this card which I love! I call it the Secret Message Fold (because I have no idea what it's really called). You can use this technique to add a hidden sentiment or picture or ?? At first glance it looks like a typical gatefold card, but when it's folded at the center, you can pull the centers apart and it opens to another hidden section of the card. Warning: Opening and shutting it is a little addicting.
I'm excited to share this technique with you in my How-To video below.
I hope you have fun trying this out for yourself.

Feels Like Summer
I don't know what part of the country you're in, but here in AZ it's beginning to warm up and feel like Summer. My wildflowers have bloomed and have created a sea of beautiful yellow, so I thought that I'd share a little bit of this beauty with the rest of you...maybe it will brighten up your day a bit :-)
You can see that the temps already heating up...and it's only around 10:30 a.m. It's hot here, but like everyone says here, "It's a dry heat!". Even with the heat I love living in the desert. Have a great day!

Another Fancy Fold share
How about this Get Well card? Pretty clever, don't you think? I wish that I could take credit for the Gatefold idea, but it came from an old magazine. I thought the fold would make a great Get Well card. I love how the ribbon is used as a bathrobe tie to keep the card closed and the Sunny Garden DSP creates a cheery look. Click Here for a link to the tutorial for creating the fold for this card.
I taught this class at Tumbleweed Recreation Center a few days ago, but I'm offering it again at my house Tuesday, May 17 at 3 different times (10 AM; 1:30 PM; 7 PM). If you'd like to join any of the classes, email me at (heiditek@cox.net) and let me know which class time you're interested in. Class fee is $12.
I'd love to have you join us!

May's Fancy Fold Card Class
I named this month's card class Fancy Fold, as we'll be trying out some fun paper folding techniques to create this month's cards. I also created a video for the Secret Message card, which I'll share later this month. The first card I'm sharing is the Scallop Easel Card which Adriel designed using the Springtime Vintage DSP, which I loved! So glad that I bought the MDS Springtime Vintage digital download for this paper, since it's long gone with the Occasion Mini catalog... but I've still got it because I have the download. (smiles!) This is good news for those of you who have My Digital Studio...the DSP is available as a download.

Mother's Day Card Share
I hope that all you mom's out there had a great Mother's Day. Ours was a bargain deal Mother's Day, but there was no economizing on the fun, food and time spent with family. What's a bargain Mother's Day, you're asking? Well, Starbuck's had all their Frap's at 1/2-price from 3-5 pm, Friday through Sunday, so we got in on that deal around 3 pm. Then if you had a coupon (which Adriel had), Pei Wei's was offering a free Mom's entree for Mother's Day, so we headed over there for dinner. Yum, yum!
And here's the beautiful Mother's Day card Adriel created for me. The DSP is retired from several years ago, I loved this paper...loved the colors and patterns. She white embossed the Medallion stamp onto the DSP...I think it looks like a doilie. Pretty cute, don't you think? She also used the Four Frames stampset and Decorative Label punch. I'm not sure how she made the flowers...I think they're one of our Big Shot flower dies, but I haven't verified that fact yet. I love the sponging and distressed look...Great job, Adriel. I love it!

A Happy Birthday
...to Adriel!
I made this fun card for her using the new Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch from the new Summer Mini Catalog. What a great punch. It's like having 3-punches-in-1. I made the border with the punch set at "3" and attached the smaller punched scallop inside the larger scallop, then overlapped each set of scallops at the sides to create this fun lacy-looking border. I made the flower using the Build A Blossom stamp set stamping with Versamark and clear embossing on So Saffron DSP, sponging Pretty in Pink and Crumb Cake on the flower petals, then punched out each petal with the Blossoms Petal punch, attaching the petals together using a 3/4" circle for the base. I stamped the center with Pear Pizzazz and then added Crystal Effects to give it a pop. Thanks for stopping by...hope that you have a great day!
