Color Challenge Deadline Extended

From Adriel:
That's right! We're extending the deadline of our Color Challenge to February 28th @ midnight. If you planned on participating in this month's THS Color Challenge #1, you've still got time but it's time to step on it! We've got a few participants so far, but we would love some more participation! Get all the details about the challenge HERE! =)

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last Friday, Feb. 19th. My husband took the day off and we had a lunch date! We never do that! We had a nice lunch together, just the two of us, and then we headed up to Payson with the kids where we spent the weekend. We went and played in the snow and just enjoyed hanging together. =)

Here's the anniversary card I made using our color challenge. It's a super simple card! I used the Very Vintage jumbo wheel with Tempting Turquoise ink along with the heart from the Hearts & Brackets die. The dots from the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder add instant texture and interest to this card without a lot of effort. Stamped a cute little sentiment, used the photo corner punch to get the banner effect on the end and added the rhinestone brad for a bit of bling and that's it. =)

Thanks for stopping by! I can't believe February is almost over... crazy!

Party Favors

From Heidi...

We have a fun class coming up next Thursday at Tumbleweed called Party Favor Holders. I thought I'd share these fun little containers we created with you. They all can hold candy, a note, or other little gift items. They can make an ordinary gift a special gift just by the packaging. We created the Sour Cream Container using the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I used the Tart and Tangy stamp set for the flower. The Genie Bag was decorated with the new Sweet Pea DSP, which I have come to love...I used the Wide Oval Punch to create the handle opening at the top.The Cottage Wall DSP makes this ordinary pineapple can look so cute. Just by adding some ribbon to the pull tab on this Pop Top Can gives it a fun and special look. The Piece of Cake uses a print-out template which is stamped to create your own DSP.
If you're looking for something fun and creative to do next Thursday evening, please join us at Tumbleweed, 6:30-9 PM.

Something Fun to Try

From Adriel:

Here's a different kind of bookmark that is simple to make, but looks awesome! I used the tutorial on Mary's blog which you can find HERE.

I used the Charming stamp set from Stampin' Up! and embossed in black and white. It's really an elegant bookmark and would make a great gift for anyone! Make a card to match, slide the bookmark over the corner and you've got an instant and lovely gift. Seriously, this bookmark takes less than 20 minutes to make... great for when you need a last minute something for a thank you or other occasion and you need a little something more than a card.

Here's another tutorial for a similar, but simpler bookmark made using the Petal Card die. I don't own that die, but this one looks like fun, too!

Have fun and enjoy yourself! We would love to see what you end up with... leave us a link to what you make! =)

Oh, and don't forget about our color challenge... there's still a few more days left. It ends Feb. 26th! Get all the details HERE!

Stamp-a-Technique Class

Our monthly classes are this week and we're doing a Stamp-a-Technique class this month featuring "glam and glitter"! All the details about times and such are in our newsletter which you can view HERE.

Here's one of the cards we will be making at the two classes today and at Thursday's class as well. This card features the "Faux Diamond" technique and the Fresh Cuts stamp set from Stampin' Up!
The entire surface of the stamped image is covered with glitterized embossing powder. It's easy to make your own... just combine a small amount of dazzling diamonds glitter w/ a small amount of clear embossing powder and you've just made yourself some glitterized embossing powder! Obviously, glitter is a bit difficult to photograph, but trust me... there's a lot of sparkle on this card! We're also making two other cards that I don't have photos of, but they are awesome! Hope you can join us and we're looking forward to seeing those of you who are already signed up! =)

Happy V-Day and a card for the THS Color Challenge #1!

I used the THS Color Challenge #1 (there's still time to play along!) for the colors and had a fun time making a simple card for my "love of a lifetime". I really appreciate my husband and am thankful for him! Today was a good day to thank the Lord for Gary and for giving me such a wonderful husband. =)

Hope you are all having an enjoyable day! We spent a good part of the day just "hanging out" together and with the kids. It was a refreshing day! =)

Supplies (all Stampin' Up! unless noted): Kraft CS, Whisper White CS, Background Sampler stamp set (retired), So Many Sayings stamp set (retired), Barely Banana classic ink, Tempting Turquoise classic ink, Ruby Red classic ink, VersaMark ink, vintage brads, Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions die, Big Shot die cut machine, Heart to Heart punch.

Using the new "Mom" set...

From Adriel:

We ordered the new "Messages for Mom" set from Stampin' Up! recently and a couple of days ago my mom and I both played with it and had some fun and laughs. I like creating with my mom. =)

This set has a ton of text in it, which I like for the reason that a lot of the sentiments can be used for other occasions and other people besides just "Mom", but they also fit well with the fancy "MOM" image that comes with the set. It doesn't come with very much else... one flourish image. This can be difficult if you're trying to use the set all by itself, but I used it along with the new "Vintage Vogue" stamp set and loved how the two sets went so well together! =)
For my card:

- I used a Kraft CS base and the size is just slightly under 3-1/2" x 5"... I think it's like 3-3/8" x 4-7/8"... I did that because it fits in the note card envelope better.

- I stamped an image from "Vintage Vogue" in Taken w/ Teal ink along the top and bottom of the card base.

- I stamped the "Mom" and the sentiment in black craft ink (on a strip of Kraft CS layered with Taken w/ Teal CS) and embossed w/ clear embossing powder. I didn't use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp these... I'm just that good... no, not really! LOL! We bought the set as clear-mounted, so it was very easy to see right where I was stamping and that is my secret! =)

- My black gingham ribbon ruffle was done by applying a strip of Sticky Strip on the back of the bottom of the sentiment panel. I just pressed and gathered the ribbon as I went.

- My flowers are embossed, even though I didn't have craft ink in Taken w/ Teal! Here's how: I inked up the floral image first with versamark. I then inked up the image again with Taken w/ Teal classic ink, directly after the versamark. Then I stamped this on my cardstock, which I then sprinkled with a mixture of clear embossing powder and dazzling diamonds glitter and set with the heat tool. So cool... you can pretty much emboss with any color that way, without needing to have craft ink pads! =) The flowers were then cut out carefully, punched with the 1/16" hand punch and attached to the Kraft CS strip w/ clear rhinestone brads.

It was fun to make... I'm going to make more (if I have time). ;-)

Don't forget about the color challenge that we're hosting! You can get all the details about it HERE!

Have a wonderful, creative day! =)

Embossed Valentine Card

From Heidi...I hope that you're all having a great week. We've got a few classes this week, so I'm looking forward to some creative time with our stamping friends. Thursday's class is an altered file folder birthday or calendar or shopping organizer...so that's going to be fun to create again. I'm sharing this embossed Valentine card. I CASE'd this from a Christmas card I saw and recreated it as a Valentine card using the Well-Scripted stamp set and Big Shot Heart diecut.

THS Color Challenge #1

Welcome to Two Happy Stampers Color Challenge #1!!

I thought it would be fun to host a color challenge for all of our creative friends! I know I like other challenges I've participated in and there's always room for more, right? This challenge is open to all of our artsy, crafty friends! Whether you make cards, scrapbook, knit, paint or anything in between, we'd love for you to join in along with us!
The color challenge this month was inspired by thinking of unconventional Valentine colors. Don't get me wrong... pink, red, white are fun to use together once a year to my heart's content, but I wanted to try some different colors out for Valentine's Day.

Our color challenge this month is: Tempting Turquoise, Barely Banana, Ruby Red and Kraft. (These are Stampin' Up! color names... use what you have!) Feel free to add some white or vanilla if desired! Make something creative using our color challenge and submit the url link to your creation in the comments. (I'm trying to figure out how to put a link gadget on here... maybe later.) You could make something related to Valentine's Day, but you don't have to. =) We'll choose 5 of the submissions and feature them on our blog!

Sound fun?! Join us!

Guidelines to participate:
- Use the colors in the challenge as a springboard for your creativity!
- Challenge ends Friday, February 28th @ midnight, Arizona time.
- Please keep submissions family friendly!

We're looking forward to seeing what you have to share with us! Let your friends know about the challenge, too! Have fun!! :)

Chocolate Cake Birthday Card

From Heidi...We had a special request for a layered Chocolate Cake, so here's what I came up with. The only BD cake stampset we had a few weeks ago, was the retired Birthday Whimsy...now we have another BD cake...can't remember the name of it at the moment. Anyway, this was a lot of fun to make. I clear EB a scallop circle punched Chocolate Chip CS, to give it a shiny frosting look. Thanks for visiting us!

Pink Valentine

From Heidi...I was inspired by a card Sara Spencer created, then with the "You and Moi" stampset...coupled with the new Sweet Pea DSP, how can you not make a cute card? Thanks for looking!

Masculine Card Share

From Heidi...We're offering a masculine card class tomorrow night at Tumbleweed using the Nouveau Chic DSP. I was in need of some other masculine cards, so pulled out some very retired SU DSP paper using the same layout as another masculine card. Thought I'd share it today! Creative Blogging

From Adriel:

Sometimes I struggle with coming up with things to share on this blog... I think if I don't have a picture of something finished or some exciting craft-related news, then I don't have anything to share. Anyone else feel the same way? It's funny, isn't it? I'm creative with my hands, but being creative with my writing and blogging is difficult... kind of a weird problem. =P

I ran across this awesome thread on Etsy with an extensive list of things to blog about... no more blog boredom! Yay! Anyway, I thought I would share the link with you...

Okay, so to try this whole "creative blogging" out, here's a question that I would love your comments on!

What kind of color combos are not "conventional" but still work for Valentine's Day? I'm looking forward to hearing what color combos you've been playing with for this holiday and what suggestions you may have! Who knows... maybe I'll pick one of the ideas and make it a color challenge! Now that's a creative idea! =)

Have an awesome and creative day! =)

MDS Baby Album

From Heidi...Yes, I'm still here. I'm thankful for Adriel, she is a faithful blogger, I'm so glad for her :-) Besides being a great blogger, she's a great daughter and a great friend, too! I've been busy...my son was chosen to participate in NPR's radio program "From the Top," so he and my husband flew to Hawaii for a week to tape the show, and we've had special requests for cards, so I haven't had as much time for other things. But today I thought I'd set aside some time and post a blog myself. We've been working on a baby album and Adriel and I are each working on designing scrap pages for it. Adriel came up with all the themes (in like 10 minutes!!! Wow...so glad she came up with the themes, otherwise I'd still be working on them...2 weeks later!) I used MDS to create the "One Month" page for the album. Thanks for letting me share it and thanks for taking time to visit us and comment! Hope you all have a great day

Another Beautiful Card

From Adriel:

I'm writing the post for this entry, but I can't take credit for this beautiful card... my mom made it. She did such a beautiful job on it and I love her color combo... gorgeous!

Here is yet another card sample for the nature cards we (mainly she) was/were working on a couple of weeks ago. Mom made lovely lollipop flowers and they "pop" out at you, don't they? Really pretty... did I mention I really like this card? ;-)

Beautiful job, Mom! =)

Soft Butterfly Card

From Adriel:

Wow! It's amazing to say, but it actually isn't raining here (at the present moment)! It has been just raining and raining... I don't think in all the years I have lived in AZ that it has rained for so many days in a row like this. It's definitely been a lot of water and the kids were so happy to go outside and play today. =)

A few days ago, I told you about cards we were making for the gift shop of a nature park near us. My mom made most of the samples for this, but I didn't have any pictures of the cards she made. The other day, I spent most of the afternoon taking pictures of our items, including her nature cards.

This card she made is so beautiful! She used such soft colors and the style is so elegant! I'm designing one of our SAS cards for March after this card, I like it so much! =)

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! =) Supplies for this card are listed below...
Supplies (all SU! unless noted) - Almost Amethyst CS, Perfect Plum CS, So Saffron (or Barely Banana) CS, Whisper White CS, Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder, Circle Scissors Plus, Scallop Circle #2 Die, Boho Blossoms punch, Scallop Trim border punch, Perfect Plum marker, So Saffron marker, Almost Amethyst marker, Mellow Moss marker, silver brad, small circle punch (size?), button (not SU).

Another Valentine SAS Card

From Adriel:

We had a great time Tuesday at our afternoon and evening classes! Everyone's cards came out wonderful and it was a great time.

Here is the card my mom designed for this class...

Isn't it cute? She punched the smallest blossom from the Boho Blossoms punch out of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and adhered them in the shape of a heart. Fun idea! My daughter was watching me edit the picture today and she said that would be cute to do with small punched hearts and I think she's right!

We've got one more class left tonight and that's a wrap! Looking forward to seeing those of you who will be attending. Have a great day! =)

Something Different...

From Adriel:

I know we've been showing a lot of Valentine-ish cards and things... that's just what we've been making recently! =) But I have something a little different to show you today and so let's get to it!

We have a wonderful park nearby us called the Veteran's Oasis Park that has a small lake where you can fish and nature trails and such. They have an education center facility also, with a little gift shop inside. We have a nature journal class planned there in February and May (I think!), but they were interested in selling some of our cards with a nature theme in their gift shop. So we made up some samples and let them have a look over them... blah, blah, blah...

My mom made some beautiful cards, but I don't have any pictures of those (YET)! Here's just a couple that I made in the cute 3"x3" note card that I love for something quick!

I'll try to get some pictures taken of my mom's cards, because she made most of the samples and her cards are really nice! Have a great Monday and enjoy your day! =)

Valentine SAS Card

From Adriel:

This coming week is our busy week full of card and stamping classes! We are going to have so much fun making these cards with our stamping gals!

Here's a couple of the cards we're going to be making at our SAS classes this week.
They're basically the same card with a different printed paper and the cardstock on the scallop circles reversed. Simple design, a lot of Big Shot-ing and pretty DS paper! BTW, that's the same DSP that I used on these mini love notes with the tiny squares of DSP... Sending Love Specialty DSP from Stampin' Up! I hope they continue making this kind of paper in the future, because it is so awesome to have one side with glitter on it. =)

If you're curious about the supplies I used, here's a list (all supplies Stampin' Up! unless noted):

Real Red CS, Kraft CS, Very Vanilla CS, Pretty in Pink CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Sending Love Specialty DSP (one of my favs right now!), Big Shot die cut machine, Scallop Circles #2 die, Elegant Bouquet Impressions folder, Hearts & Brackets die, Photo Corner punch, All Holidays stamp set, Chocolate Chip ink, rhinestone (not SU!).

Mini Love Notes

From Adriel:

I love making 3x3 mini note cards... they're just so cute! Of course, you can't send them in the mail (unless you put them in an A2 envelope), but they're perfect for giving along with a small gift, or tucking somewhere to find later, or just for giving from hand to hand on their own! Anyway, they're cute... that's the important part! And they're also pretty easy to make a bunch of because of the size... cute and simple! I really like that! =D

I used small squares of the lovely new DSP from Stampin' Up! called Sending Love Specialty DSP. Each sheet of DSP has one side that has glitter on it... built in glam!! ;-)

Simple, yes. Quick... well, cutting those squares super small and then adhering them evenly on... not so quick. But CUTE... remember, that is what we're going for! =D

Look for these in our Etsy shop soon!
