Fun Tangerine Note Cards

From Adriel:

Winter is almost over and here in Arizona it's not really hard to imagine spring... it already feels like spring. Besides, winter this year was only like a week long (at least it felt that way)! So, as we are nearing the end of February, these cards seemed happy and "spring-y".

Again, I used some white textured CS, which I'm really liking! It's adds some, ahem!, texture to a project! I just stuck with simple for these cards and I liked how they turned out. They are 3x3 cards (I really like that size!) and I actually didn't use any dimensionals on this card! GASP!! I can't remember the last time that happened! But it just goes to show that you don't always need dimension, but some interest definitely. I chose to cut up the sentiment into strips to add more interest. I also added a couple of small rhinestones and a bit of stitching. The Tangerine Tango CS is a bit on the dark side, so I added Whisper White CS inside for writing on.
Recipe:
Friendship Blooms (Retired Sale-a-Bration set from last year)
Tangerine Tango CS
White Textured CS
Bashful Blue CS
Whisper White CS
Tangerine Tango ink
Night of Navy ink
Tombow Glue (for the rhinestones and sentiment strips)

Stamp Club Today!

Today marks the day of our first Stamp Club meeting! This month's Stamp Club project is this cute and very practical Birthday Calendar. It's great for keeping track of all those birthdays in one place and also gift ideas, PLUS it looks so great!

If you're unfamiliar with how a Stamp Club works, here's a brief explanation:

For 10 months, you agree to spend $25 (each month) in Stampin' Up! merchandise from Heidi (she's the demo). In doing this, you join what we call a "Stamp Club". Following is a list of benefits given to Stamp Club members:

- Stamp Club members receive a FREE copy of the current Idea Book & Catalog, along with other miscellaneous promotional catalogs throughout their 10-month membership!

- Stamp Club members get to come to our club meetings where we make great projects and learn new techniques. There is no extra cost for this! This is an added bonus for joining the Stamp Club. For instance, at this month's club meeting, we will be making birthday calendars. Club members don't have to pay for supplies or anything! They just get to come and have fun and make and create!

- Stamp Club members receive hostess benefits one of the months they are a club member. This doesn't mean you have to "host" anything, rather you simply receive the benefits a hostess would receive from a workshop. You receive the basic hostess benefits, which is a free level 1 hostess reward and $15 in free Stampin' Up! merchandise. You don't have to invite anyone to a workshop or anything! This is just an added bonus you receive for becoming a Stamp Club member. We do offer the option to club members that if they would like to increase their hostess benefits during their month as "hostess", they can "host" their own workshop with friends and collect outside orders, but this is not a requirement.

So, in a nutshell, for $25 a month (for 10 months) Stamp Club members get $25 in Stampin' Up! product a month, along with a FREE monthly project class, FREE catalogs, & FREE Stampin' Up! product (on their month as hostess)!

If you're in or around the area of Chandler, AZ and would like to join us, send us an email to get all the details! We'd love to have you.

Cards with Textured Card Stock

From Adriel:

I put this set of cards in our Etsy shop a few days ago and thought I'd share them with you. We got some white textured card stock last week and I made a set of cards with it. Textured card stock is a lot of fun and adds a little bit "more" to your card! =)

I used accents of Kiwi Kiss and Not Quite Navy to set off the white. I used a couple of retired sets from Stampin' Up! I used the Doodle This set for the flowers. I wanted to do something different than what I've been doing lately, so I used the wonderful scripture verses in the Elegant Inspirations set for the focal points on each of the cards. I embossed these verses with white embossing powder, so they really stand out! I also added white stitching and some paper piercing and embellishments. We had just been to Michael's and my mom had gotten some cute ribbon. It matched perfectly with the cards I made! I also finished the insides with colored cardstock and white card stock again and stamped images. I used the blurred vision technique on the inside images.

They look refreshing and I hope they refresh the spirit of whoever may receive them. Maybe you need some refreshing. Here's one of the verses printed out for you. May it refresh you! =)

"By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me." Psalms 42:8

Hey, I just had to share real quickly that we got featured on CheapTweet! Check out our great deal by clicking HERE or the CheapTweet button the the right-hand column!

A Birthday Card

From Adriel:

I just listed this in our Etsy shop and thought, "Hey! I'll post this on our blog, too!" So, here's a cute birthday card I made a few days ago! Wouldn't it make a cute invitation to a little girl's party (with a different sentiment, of course!)?

The little girl is from the retired set, Lively Little Ones. I wish it wasn't retired... it's so cute!! Anyway, I used a blender pen and ink to "watercolor" her and I enjoyed myself. Watercoloring is relaxing, although it does take a little bit of time. It's worth it, IMHO! =) It's SO MUCH BETTER than a plain black & white image!

Yesterday I made an Easter card that I'll show you soon! I did some more watercoloring! LOL! Thanks for looking! Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

Just a Pretty Card

From Adriel:

Another card to share with you! I used the same color scheme as the wedding card I showed you guys a few days ago, although I didn't use any gray, except for the ink.

I used the Fresh Cuts set for the bottom and, I believe, the Delight in Life set for the large flowers. Aren't those flowers so pretty? The leaves are made by folding the cardstock in half and sending it through the crimper at an angle, then cutting out a half-a-leaf shape, then unfolding. There's a tutorial out there somewhere for that, but I'm too lazy right now to look for it! =)

The embossed images on the bottom of the card are from the Fresh Cuts set. I also finished the inside with the same image using classic ink in Pale Plum & Kiwi Kiss. Sentiment is from the One of a Kind set.

BTW, Kiwi Kiss is definitely growing on me! I wasn't very fond of it when it was introduced, but I'm finding it adds a nice POP to color combinations!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day! =)

Wedding Days!

From Heidi...
This seems to be the season for weddings and I needed a card for a friend's daughter whose wedding is coming up at the end of this month. I drew my inspiration for this card from Adriel's wonderful layout she used for her lavendar wedding card and also from an order we're doing for a bride-to-be, whose colors I fell in love with....Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip and Cream. Thanks for looking!

Blue and White Thank You's

From Heidi...

Here's a set of 5 thank you cards I made last week. The Brilliant Blue with Kiwi Kiss makes a great combo, especially on the white. I was going to use the Stampin'Write markers to color the flower on the stamp set, but I don't have the Bold Bright markers, yet. So I used my blender pen and ink pads to color in the Brilliant Blue with the Regal Rose. I used Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive for the stem and leaf. I really like the effect. I crimped the Brilliant Blue CS to give some texture to the card. Thanks for looking!

Cards from Texas!

From Heidi...
I'm sharing a couple of cards from a dear fellow stamper and friend, Shirley Waage, from Texas. Shirley is the one who introduced me to Stampin' Up! and card making while she was my neighbor here in AZ for several years. She moved to Texas last year and is still creating wonderful cards...now with a Texas theme. She shared these cards with me and I just love them! I asked her if I could share them here on our blog, so here they are...Enjoy her work!

As Promised...Card Candy

From Heidi...
I love Card Candy (aka scrapping or card embellishments). We spent a morning with several other ladies and made about 12 pieces of card candy each, plus embellished photo corners. I used 2 color families. Family A - Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Old Olive; Family B - Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive.

Once your Card Candy is made, making a quick handmade card is simple. Especially if ahead of time, you make up several different card bases to place your Card Candy on. This is the basic card design base for Family B.
After I place a piece of the Card Candy onto the basic card...voila! Plain becomes special and all within minutes. I don't know if any of you have heard of making 30 meals ahead of time for the upcoming month, but Card Candy reminds me a little bit of that. When you're short on time these are very handy, or if you've got a scrapping project and need little embellishments, these look great, plus they're already made. Staying within a family of colors really helps because you already know that everything already coordinates together.

A Quick birthday card

From Heidi...
We're getting ready for a card candy class this week, but wanted to share this quick birthday card I made. I actually used a piece of the card candy on this card, which is why I wanted to share it. I used a 3-color family for this card: Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip. I used a simple layout, which the card candy can be used on. Just by making a few minor changes I can make an entirely different looking card... very fun, and time-saving as well.

I'll be sharing some of the card candy next week with various card layouts, as well as scrap layouts. These little embellishments are nice to have on hand, especially when you need a quick a card and time is limited. Thanks for looking!

Heart Gift Tags

From Adriel:
I hope all your weekends were nice and relaxing. We took the kids on a picnic and enjoyed being outside (I should mention here in AZ, the weather is so nice at this time of year). Sunday (very early, like 4:30 AM early), our store got broken into. We were rudely awakened by a call from alarm company and my husband looked at the cameras (that he can view from our computer at home), but didn't see anyone inside the store, so he thought it was a false alarm. Well, after we went back to sleep for a few more hours and woke up (again), he checked the recording from the cameras and sure enough, there WAS someone in our store (at 4:30AM). I guess I should mention that we own a Tropical Smoothie Cafe here in AZ. Anyway, my husband went tothe store and had the police meet him there. The door was kinda messed up, but NOTHING was stolen!! Really, that is a blessing from God, and I truly mean that. The guy had plenty of time to take stuff (since we passed it off as a false alarm initially and no police were sent at the time), but he left pretty quickly and didn't take anything! This is the second time our store has been burglarized, and the second time God has protected it! I just want to take the time to tell you what God did for us. Our Lord Jesus deserves all the praise and glory and I just want to give Him that, even on this blog! =D
I know we've been showing a lot of Valentine stuff, but that's what we've been making!! I don't think I showed these cute heart gift tags yet. They don't necessarily have to be used for Valentines Day. They could be used anytime!!

These were fairly easy to make and look really nice! I used the curly label bundle which came with the punch and a set of coordinating stamps. I stamped Kiwi Kiss ink and Pale Plum ink on white CS. I punched those out with the curly label punch. Then I stamped Versamark on Kiwi Kiss CS and Pale Plum CS and embossed with white embossing powder and punched those out. I then used the 3-heart stamp from the Love You Much set along with the Heart to Heart punch and used dimensionals to pop those up on the tags. I added silver eyelets for stringing hemp twine through and that's it! Lots of fun and a sweet way to dress up a gift for anytime, especially Valentines Day.

BTW, that curly label set is great! I love the shape of the punch and the stamps coordinate so well with it! I'm ready to make some more... =D

Thanks so much for reading and looking! I hope you all have a wonderful week!
