Mosaic Christmas Ornaments

CLICK ON LINKS BELOW TO VIEW:
...............................................
Today's card uses the Mosaic punch to create a couple of ornaments for the card's embellishments. I originally made the card only red and white, but my husband said it needed some greenery, so I added Old Olives leaves from the Secret Garden framelit set. I think he was right, I like it a lot better with a touch of green.
I'd seen the cute cut-out bottom for the Modern Mosaic embossing folder on a card by Kerry Bunting and loved the look, so incorporated that idea into this card. I had a strip of the striped Season of Style DSP which fit perfectly in giving the card a festive look.

Supplies:
CS: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Season of Style DSP (132340)
INK: Early Espresso
SS: Sweet Essentials (126457)
PUNCHES:Mosaic (131267)
BIG SHOT: Secret Garden framelit (129372), Modern Mosaic EB folder (129984)
ACCESSORIES: Jewels-rhinestones (119246)

Mosaic Madness Poinsetta

CLICK ON LINKS BELOW TO VIEW:
...............................................
I'm sharing another Mosaic Madness Christmas card. I've seen several cards around using the Mosaic Madness stamp set and Mosaic punch to create a poinsetta and leaves, so had to try my hand at it. My poinsetta is a Strawberry Slush, since this is one of my favorite reds these days.

I used the Square Lattice embossing folder for a background. I dragged my Strawberry Slush inkpad over the raised embossing to create the white and red texture.

Supplies:
CS: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, So Saffron, Old Olive
INK:Early Espresso, Strawberry Slush, Old Olive
SS:Mosaic Madness (130249), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)
BIG SHOT: Square Lattice embossing folder (119976)
PUNCHES:Mosaic (131267), Boho Blossom (119858)Punch Pack (118309),
ACCESSORIES: Jewels-rhinestones (119246)

Mosaic Madness Christmas Tree

CLICK ON LINKS BELOW TO VIEW:
...............................................
Today I'm sharing a simple card which was inspired by Penny Hanuszak. I used her Mosaic Madness Christmas tree idea, gluing all my stamped and punched Mosaic Madness pieces to Whisper White CS to create the tree. I then trimmed around the outer edges of my tree, placed the tree in my Square Lattice embossing folder to give it texture, and then added the embossed tree to the front of my card.
I have seen some more great ideas for the Mosaic Madness stamp set and punch, which I'll be sharing over the next few weeks.
Hope that you're all having a wonderful week!
Supplies:
CS: Whisper White, Season of Style DSP (132340)
INK: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Real Red, Soft Suede
SS: Mosaic Madness(130249),Petite Pairs(122497)
BIG SHOT:Square Lattice embossing folder (119976)

Festive Flurry Ornament Tutorial

CLICK ON LINKS BELOW TO VIEW:
...............................................

How about a FREE tutorial? Well, I've got one for you today. This card was inspired by the Snowflake Season Simply Sent card kit in the Holiday Mini catalog. I thought creating an ornament to give as part of a card, was such a great idea, adding a personal touch to Christmas card-giving this year.

The Festive Flurry stampset and framelits bundle work great for this idea. I've created a FREE TUTORIAL for you to download, if you'd like to make these for yourself. I used the Winter Frost DSP, but any Christmas DSP could be used along with coordinating inks. You can customize the tutorial by swapping out your own DSP and colored cardstock for what I have written and use the rest of the tutorial to take you through the steps.
Hope that you have fun!

Three Gumball Green Trees

I love the Gumball Green as a Christmas color. The new Gumball Green stamp pad did a great job of inking up the solid stamp tree images for this card, which happens to be the last of the three cards we made in last month's Christmas trio class. I used the Pennant Parade stamp set for these cute trees along with the Pennant punch.
The cute Gumball Green polka dot paper strip is from the fun Be of Good Cheer DSP.

Happy Stamping!

Layered Christmas Noel

Layers, layers, layers! This card is one of the cards we made in my Christmas trio class, and it has lots of layers along with a gold embossed ornament, textured embossed Labels framelit and the rich Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
I used the Joyous Celebrations stamp set for the ornament, ribbon, holly and sentiment.

Happy Stamping!

A Very Simple Christmas Card

Since I haven't posted any cards for awhile, I thought I'd share this simple Christmas card I made. These were my "send out" cards this year. I used mostly digital images from My Digital Studio. I did stamp a nice sentiment inside each card using the Petite Pairs. My hybrid additions are the crimped Early Espresso band across the front, the colored star rhinestones and a tied bow.

They were fast, easy but still handmade.. my kind of card.
...and like the card says, "Have yourself a Merry little Christmas"!

Telescoping Snowman

Earlier this year I saw a telescoping card that Dawn Olchefske had shared and I thought this idea would make a cute Telescoping Snowman. So here's my little guy who turns into a tall guy using the telescoping technique. We had a lot of fun creating our snowmen in this month's Christmas Card class. This is one of the versions of the cards I made, as I made several different snowmen and snowmen faces. For my class, I ended up creating a digitally drawn face that we punched out and used.
I'm sharing the tutorial for this card. The snowman in the tutorial is slightly different than the one here in the picture, but he's still cute :-) Click Here for the PDF tutorial.
Have Fun!!

Free Photo Holder Card Tutorial

The theme for my card class this month was Christmas Holder cards. We made a couple of newsletter holder cards and then this card, which is a Photo Holder, using the Top Note Bigz die which I wanted to share with you. Just click on the link Snowflake Photo Holder for your free PDF tutorial.
One of our stamping friends used Whisper White snowflakes instead of Bashful Blue and it made a beautiful card. What makes this card a little special, is that when the recipient pulls out the photo they still have a beautiful stamped Christmas card. When I first designed the card I had only stamped a sentiment, but it seemed to need a little bit more, so I added the trees from Plant Hope. (Thanks, Susan, for letting me borrow your stamp set...I'm ordering my own this month :-)
I'd love to see what you come up with, so please feel free to send me a photo of your rendition of the Photo Holder. I hope that you have fun trying the card out. Happy Friday!

Button Christmas Card + Holiday Link Party

From Adriel:

There's a holiday link party at the end of this post! Link up your holiday goodies, and by that I mean anything you've been working on, be it baking, crafting, sewing... you get the picture! Here's what I've been working on.

I finished up this Christmas card last week. I was waiting on the snowflake punch, which came and it finished off the card. My mom was the one who said it needed the snowflake... she is a genius! =)

You can't tell in the picture, but I spritzed the snowflake with some shimmer mist. I think the buttons add some charm to this card. The color combo for this card is conducive to "charming" and "cute-sy". ;-)

It was kind of hard having to get into "Christmas" gear in August. My mom did most of the holiday creating. This was my small contribution. We'll be making this card and others at a card class coming up in the next couple of months. It is already September, so I guess it's about time to get ready for the holidays. =)

Have you been working on anything related to the holidays coming up? Link up below! The only guideline is that submissions be family-friendly! No other strings attached! =)

Accessories: Soft Suede 5/8" dotted grosgrain ribbon, Brad, Eyelet Edge Punch.

A Glittery Snowman

From Heidi...Here's a cute snowman (I'm sorry that my picture is blurry) from the Snow Buddies stamp set which I filled in by brushing on Crystal Effects mixed with Dazzling Diamond glitter. I watercolored the rest of him (scarf, hat, and nose). I used Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, and Whisper White. He sure looks happy! I saw this cute card layout from another blogger's site (sorry, I don't know who you are!) She used SU's Hostess stamp set using the pea for the snowman... it was too cute! Thanks for stopping by...and if we don't get another blog posted before Thanksgiving, we hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday Happiness

From Adriel:

Awhile ago, I was inspired by some colors I saw in a combination together and wanted to make a Christmas card with those colors. I sat down and tried out different colors before deciding on this color combo: Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Pink Passion and lots of white!
Patterned Pines, the new hostess set we recently earned, made fun little trees for this card. I inked them up individually and cut them out. I dimensioned the trees over an Old Olive strip that I did some faux stitching on... okay, not my strength. I need some practice on faux stitching and getting the stitches even. (Kristina Werner makes it look terribly easy!)

I used a medium dot stamp from a random stamp set... I think we've got 2 or 3 of those dots from different sets! Anyway, dotted the bottom of the card in the various colors. Finished the card off with a sentiment from an old set called "So Many Sayings" and little tiny rhinestones on one of the trees.

Had fun, enjoyed myself and made something new! =)

Five Christmas Cards

From Heidi...I'm sharing Card 1 from our upcoming Christmas Stamp-A-Stack next month. I started creating these cards based on Sharon Field's One Sheet Wonder Christmas Card class she shared, but once I got into designing, I had some other ideas for the cards. So Sharon became my jump board for these cards. I used Stampin' Up's "Merry Moments" Designer paper...I love all the paper designs. This card uses: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip CS; All Holidays, Circle Circus stamp sets; 1" and 1-1/4" Circle Punches. Thanks for taking time to visit us!
