Upcoming Tumbleweed Class

This cute Tart and Tangy card portfolio (312TW.431) is our upcoming 7 p.m. class at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. Adriel created this fun portfolio for the class, which was inspired by a portfolio that Dawn Olfchefske created awhile back. This month's project features the Tart and Tangy stampset (which is retiring, boohoo! but you still have until June 30 to order it), and it includes 4 cards and envelopes and uses the "Rock and Roll" stamping technique.

June Newsletter is Here!

This month's newsletter is full of Stampin' Up! news. With the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog right around the corner, the Last Chance List is here and will be updated everyday by 4 PM from June 1-30, and sweeter deals for Hostesses are coming.

Along with SU news, I have all my upcoming classes for the next couple of months posted with pictures in the newsletter. I'll have a few kits available for those who can't attend my classes, so contact me if you're interested in a kit. Elegant Soiree Celebrate

I'm teaching my Floral and Spring classes today at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. My morning class was fun and I'm looking forward to tonight's class. It's been several weeks since I've stamped with the "gals", so it will be fun to get caught up with everyone and maybe meet a newbie or two...that's always fun!

Today's share is a birthday card I made. I used the Elegant Soiree DSP, the Square Lattice textured impression folder and circles.

April Spring Floral Classes

I'm excited to share this month's classes which is Spring and Floral themed, plus I get to see all my stamping friends again. We've got Sweet Peas and Hydrangeas planned, along with fun techniques to create the cards below at next week's Tumbleweed Recreation Center Classes on Tuesday, 4/12 (312TW.331 - 10 AM and 313TW.331 - 7 PM).

Acetate Embellishment

In our card class this month we'll be showing you 3 different Acetate Techniques. One of the techniques will focus on embellishments for cards or scrapbooking. If you've been out shopping for scrapbook embellishments, you know they can be kind of pricey, especially for the acrylic ones. So I thought this would be a great  project to add to our card class this month.

If you live in the area, we're offering classes at the Tumbleweed Recreation Center on Tuesday, March 8 (310TW.331- 10 AM;  311TW.331 - 7 PM  ) and then again at my house the following Tuesday, March 15 (10 AM - Noon; 1:30 PM-3:30 PM; and 7-9 PM). Here you can see how I've used the acrylic embellishment on a simple little "Hello" card. It's a quick add-on that makes a simple card look special.

Take a Spin Card Class

Here's a peek at another card from our class this month which focuses on the Faux Silk technique and Game cards. We've used the fun Take A Spin stamp set, which incorporates a little game spinner as a cute embellishment. We love this set and all it's cute sayings and special events that you can choose with the spinner. Faux Silk Technique Video

Our monthly class this month focuses on the Faux Silk technique and Take a Spin cards. We offered this class Tuesday, but we've got another class coming up next Tuesday, 2/22, at Tumbleweed Recreation Center (10 AM -314TW.231 ; 7 PM -315TW.231  ), so you can still get in on the fun!

This year we've started sharing technique videos that coincide with our monthly technique or project classes, which we thought would be helpful to those who come to our classes and anyone else, for that matter :-) We're also slowly aiming towards card and project kits, and felt like offering videos would be helpful to anyone who might purchase one of our kits.

This month's technique video shows the Faux Silk technique using the Elements of Style stamp set. I incorporated the Framed Tulips impression folder into this card, which makes the perfect frame for the Faux Silk image. Thanks for stopping by and visiting us!

Brayered Just Believe

I love this stamp set "Just Believe". The set includes sentiments that I will actually use, little frames for words, and small and large foliage, which is why I chose it for this brayered card. As I've been admiring other stamper's work, I combined several little pieces of a bunch of different ideas and put them together to create this brayered and then texture embossed card. This is the second brayered card we'll making on Tuesday, 1/4, Creative Cardmaking class (308TW.231/309TW.231) at Tumbleweed Recreation Center.

This week the Two Happy Stampers will be busy working on a couple of custom Etsy orders. It will be a nice change of pace having Adriel and the kids over and getting a chance to work together. We don't get too many of those days right now, so I'm looking forward to this week. Thanks for visiting us and we hope that you're having a great start to your week.

Inbetween Holidays

We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a fun day eating turkey and all the yummy side dishes that go with it, along with great fellowship with friends and family.

We've finished up our classes for this year, so we're busy preparing for 2011... (although I still have to make all my Christmas cards to send out...I better get on it here soon!) Our first class in January is a Brayering class at Tumbleweed Recreation Center, Tuesday, 1/4 (10 a.m.- 308TW.231/ 7 p.m. 309TW.231) . This tall brayered Medallion card is based on a card I cased from Claudia Perry and is one that we'll be creating. I love this technique and the effect it adds to cards.

Punched Christmas Penguin and Reindeer

After we planned our classes for last year's Christmas cards and projects, I saw this little punched penguin and reindeer on someone's blog (I apologize for not knowing who came up with these little guys...if you know, please let me know). I tucked this idea away and couldn't wait until this year's classes, so that I could use them on gift card holder-ornaments that we'll be making, along with another gift card holder in our Tuesday, November 2 classes (323TW.130/ 10-Noon and 324TW.130/ 7-9 PM)  at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. Stocking Gift Card Holder
